Author Topic: Got my pedalboard sorted (pics) (Read 2327 times)

After months and months where I was meant to be doing this, I now have put all my crucial pedals together, wired them neatly with Lavacable solderless (in front) and George Ls (in the loop). I am a very happy man now :P

(for clarification I am using the VHT switch for the Bogner, the VHT amp has gone long time ago)

how are they all held down on the board? i want to make just a real simple pedalboard but my only ideas for keeping the pedals on there is zip ties or gluing some type of bracket to the bottom of the pedals that i can drill down.

What was the VHT amp like? What one was it?

What I did was get chain link plates from an old bike chain, which are a kinda figure of 8 shape. I then put a screw through one of the holes to attach them onto the bottom of the pedal (through the usual screw holes that hold the enclosure together), and then put another screw down the other hole of the chain link into the board, if you see what I mean. If not, I'm sure I can rustle up an ever helpful ms paint diagram.

edit - ok hunter stop it now :P That guitar is too nice for its own good. Is that how the regular Edwards honeybursts look, minus the pre-relicing?

They are all velcroed to the board. It's the usual method. Drawback is that you have this tape sticking on the back of your pedals but otherwise it's very handy and flexible.

Re the Edwards, Tom I don't know, the Page Relic is the only one I ever played, so not sure about the flame on regular ones. But there are always some on the bay with good pictures.

It was OK, very punchy and in your face, but not so much for me - I have to say it was an EL84 amp, not sure what those recent VHTs are like, but they are no longer using EL84s for them.

thanks. i actually asked before i searched, i did find out about the velcro and thats the way i'm going. my danelectro pb&j just has one big screw in like the middle holding the bottom plate on, so i'd either have to use velcro or strap it down, so i figured i'd just cover the entire board in velcro and then i can move the pedals around and everything. i started making my board tonight, i suppose i might be able to take a picture when i'm done. won't be nearly as fancy as yours, but it'll do.

That pedalboard just confuses me haha, i only use an OD and Wah, must have cost a fair amount!

So you're actually not using your BoR? Surprised ...
I also have some pedals that didn't make it on the board.

Say TF, when you are using your wireless, where do you put it, how do you do the wiring then?

That's the HT-Dual. I think it's awesome. I set the green and red channels at similar volumes so one is a base "rock" level of gain and the other is "heavy rock". The amp is set to "crunch" or clean. I then use the Hilbourne booster for leads.

Hunter - I prefer the Blackstar to the BoR. This is my 'do everything' setup and it does me fine. I don't use this board for 'DC gigs or use it with a wireless. The speaker compensated out on the Blackstar is dead handy if I want (or need) to run though the PA

For 'DC gigs, I usually just use my wireless straight into the amp. Depending on the venue I may put the BoR in the chain set "always on" as I carry it in my kit bag in case I need a bit more grit.

I have a large box of pedals that didn't make it to the board, I think I need a clear out....
