If you are a metal/power metal fan and haven't checked out Helloween's latest, Gambling With The Devil, I can honestly say that it's their best album since Dark Ride, and I might even like it a bit more.

The hooks are all a mile wide and seem to be taking a nod from the recent Nocturnal Rites/Dark Moor material, but it's more 'Helloween' -- ie, go-for-the-jugular aggressive.

Plus, Helloween is touring with Gamma Ray, a plan that's been in the works for a while, and you can see that Weikath brought his A game to the table for this one to tour with.

Keeper 1 or 2? No, nothing can replace those albums in terms of music or influence.

The lame Keeper money-grab from last year? YES!

It rivals Dark Ride, which is my favourite Deris album to date.

i like it aswell, although the new Gamma Ray album 'Land of the Free II' is absoloutely superb....best power metal album in years imo... some of the arrangements and soloing are blindlingly good (if a bit influenced by Seventh Son\ Somewhere In Time era Maiden... not that thats a BAD thing!)

Helloween and Gamma Ray are going to war it seems, Majestic vs Keeper: Legacy and now Gambling With The Devil vs Land of the Free II!

I've heard similar from other friends of mine. New Gamma Ray was out of stock when I picked up the Helloween, so I'll be checking again today. Though in a way I'm glad as it's given me the opportunity to really digest Gambling.

Favourite tracks = Paint A New World, Dreambound

My god, are they still going.  I haven't heard them since I still shared a bedroom with my brother.  Oh no, here comes that old feeling again
