Hey Davey,

Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words...the PU definately sings...btw, I just installed the PU on my ESP MII...OMG!!!!! Wow, wow, wow!!!!! It sounds absolutely incredible on that gtr!!! The PU definnately sounds better in the MII then my Gajic Custom. The Gajic works with some PUs that I've used but not too well with others... probably to do with the body wood/PU match up...anyways, the sound of the Nailbomb on my ESP MII is more focused then on the Gajic Custom and the gtr feels like it wants to be played. I am not having to fight the gtr at all to sqeeze a beautiful tone out of it...incredible harmonics as well...I'm gonna order up another Nailbomb for my Serpent! :D

Hey HJM,

Thanks for the welcome and the props, I really appreciate it :) Yep, George is a tab influencial on my playing!!! LOL...Glad you liked the website...

I should have some more soundclips soon as the Nailbomb is on my MII now...it has to be done, right??? :p

Clips coming in the next few days bro... ;)

The Gajic Custom has a Poplar body. It's supposed to be a derivative of maple but I find that it sucks up a lot of the mid range tone and doesn't sound as bright as maple. The gtr was built in 2002 as a protoype of a signature model, but the main model was never built and I haven't heard from the gtr builder for a while so I guess it won't be completed!!! Hehe...

The MII I have is a 92 model, which is the gtr the Lynch models are based. The single coil sized PU (a Duncan Cool Rails) is angled, etc. The body on that one is alder and it sounds really sweet. It also has a maple fretboard, which adds a little more bite. I used that gtr when I recorded the tracks for the George Lynch Tribute CD and it sounded great. I've had some work done to it since and it now have a snakeskin print body with a black burst around the edges. The Nailbomb marries really well with it...

I'm looking forward to getting another PU and putting it on my Serpent. The Serpent is my favorite gtr. It sounds awesome...ash body, rosewood fretboard.

Cool! I'm sure he'll build you a great gtr...and neck for Ben...

Laz is a great gtr builder but in all honesty I don't see myself working with him again. I was trying to contact him a few months ago as we were supposed to hook up, but after two weeks of calls I didn't hear from him and he never returned any of my calls, so I've given up now. He’s let me down a with a couple of things in the past so time to move on...but oh well, live and learn...no hard feelings, that’s just life…

In fact, the PU sound that I was going for was the sound which I got from a custom wound pickup which Laz had built a couple of years ago called the Hellchild. Laz was about to throw it away because he didn't like it, but I said I'd take try it out and I thought it was awesome. So Laz resurrected it and after I helped develop it he needed the PU back so that he could build a couple more (and send me another one, etc), but after that I didn't receive another one so wasn't able to get that sound again. So, when I spoke with Tim Mills a couple of weeks ago about the sound I was after he said that the Nailbomb would be my best bet, and man was he right! It does exactly what I was looking for, so I'm a happy bunny again!!! :)

Jay,

Awesome tune! I am a huge Lynch fan myself, Tim also recommended the Nailbomb to me so I bought the calibrated set. Unfortunately, I still have not been able to hear them since I am having a custom guitar built. It should be finished this week though! I also just purchased the Cold Sweat and Trilogy for my other guitar but that won't be ready until I get the new guitar back. So, I own two sets of BKP's but I have not even heard them yet:-(

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the comps and for the great advice about the PUs. You're very welcome btw. It was an absolute pleasure recording the clip. The PU is working fantasticlly well. It is exactly the sound that I was looking for (as we discussed). The PU sounded good in my Gajic Custom but wait till you hear how it sounds in my ESP...it sounds much clearer and the bass response is tighter as well! I'll be ordering a couple more soon :)

Hey DB...

Thanks man! Cool, Another Lynchhead!!! :D Wait till you try the Nailbomb out...you'll like it. I've been using Screaming Demons since they came out in 1991, but the Nailbomb gives just more crunch, depth of tone, etc, without losing the definition and kick. I'm a convert!!! Besides, George hardly uses the Demon these days. A lot of his gtrs have a JB in bridge these days. I really like the low end response of the Nailbomb too, it's more focused then the demon and cust through the mix better then the Demon...I've been hearing a lot about the Cold Sweat as well...I'll have to get my paws on that one at some stage also. Let me know what you think of the PUs when you get your gtrs back...btw, which company is building them? Just curious...

Jay,

I have a luthier in town who does absolutely fabulous work, set-ups and refinishing. I purhcased all the parts seperately to have a guitar just the way I wanted. I found an original maple '82 Charvel strathead neck, had it completely refinished and refretted with Dunlop 6000 frets. I had a solid one piece alder strat body made and painted in black nitro finish. Original Floyd rose with titanium blocks, reverse zebra Nailbomb calibrated set + all the electronics. My other guitar is a Wayne, I had a new neck made for that one and the Cold Sweat and Trilogy pickups are going on that one as soon as the new one is finished.
