HSS set ? for a custom homemade "strat "
« on: January 22, 2008, 03:23:11 AM »
Hi everyone
I am looking for a HSS set for my new homemade "strat" all made in maple with ebony fretboard.  the sound looking I am looking for is a hot vintage ,70es, led zep sound. great output, for rock hardrock and "heavy blues rock".

So after reading some pages here I founded blackdog could be a nice choice.  What about the single coils ?
Irish Vs Slowhands ?
Is there any guy around who tested both of them ?
I don't want the neck and middle position signle coil to be too dark

regards,

I have Slowhands in the middle and neck on 2 different guitars and like the sound.  They should go well with a blackdog bridge.  I also like the Rebel Yell/Mothers Milk set, but this is brighter and might not suit the guitar if it has a lot of maple in it.
So many pickups, so little time

Lauraceae Cinnamomum .
