I know they might not be very well made, but i LOVE the look of those Gibson Faded guitars!
actually, this one is VERY well made
I always thought they sucked and had asian Epiphone wood, and my surprise was very pleasant
the wood inside the cavities has exactly the same grain, texture, porosity and especially the smell of the custom brazilian mahogany les paul I had (the brazilian mahogany is the same species as the honduran)
really good piece of wood
the acoustic resonance is very impressive and loud, even for a gibson
this one kicks every les paul studio asses I've played
and one les paul standard too!
I played a 1990 sg '61 reissue on store and it sucked ass really bad
this one along with a 2000 Gothic V and a '98 Explorer were definitely the best Gibsons I had in hands
I never played another Faded, so maybe (probably) I got lucky
the finish on the body is awesome too, cause it's way darker than the usual Gibson worn brown finish
unhappily, the fretboard is fugly as hell, but it plays very nice
the neck feels a lot like the BC Rich Bich I had years ago
I'm thinking of using some kind of product to darken the fretboard and maybe put some vinyl inlays (PJK fleur de lis? Angus lightnings? Iommi crosses?)
if I don't sell it to fund my real Les Paul Custom, maybe I'll pay for a real ebony fretboard with binding and cool inlays :D
this guitar may be cheap, but definitely doesn't sound cheap :P
