Hi there guys,

A little parcel of BK love came through the letter-box just now, and since it's a little different to the norm, I thought people might be interested to see it...

It's a double screw pole VHII, and I think the colour combination is a first for BK, though don't think it was to Tim's taste...

It's to go in an cr@ppy old Kramer of mine, and hopefully will give it a new lease of life, though I expect I may end up putting this beauty in a more worthy guitar in due course!

Double screw pole FTW!!!!

All my bridge pickups (well, all my BKs, cos they're the only people I can get the option off) are double screw pole. It rules.

I wonder if anyone's ever requested a set of hand-striped VHII's...?

Wahey!  Purple/cream zebra!  :D  :D  :D

As I've mentioned before, I was going to get purple/cream Crawlers for my Edwards LP, but I decided it wouldn't look right in that guitar.

Show us another pic when it's in the guitar.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Cheers for the comments, I'm very happy with the way it looks!

Here's a pic of the guitar it's going in:

And here's the pickup mounted, though it isn't wired up yet:

The plan was to have the trem blocked up, but the 80's-ness of the pickup is making me want to have a guitar with a working Floyd now!

Dangnabit, I was hoping I was the first to think of doing it! :)

Well you're almost certainly the first to actually do it.  And you've got the double screw polepieces!  :D

Fair enough. Anyway, great minds and all that. Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to get the chance to wire it up today, which is rather ghey...

Do pole pieces matter? I have sooo many ideas for custom pickups for Tim but I dunno if he would actually do it.

And your pickup looks awesome, Nolly. Especially the purple on the black :) Are you going to replace the neck humbucker or just have the bridge?

They make a subtle difference because (I believe) the shape of the magnetic field around the poles depends on the shape of the poles themselves.  And of course if they're adjustable you can compensate for slight volume differences between the strings.
