PRS Mira - I need to play one first.

now THIS is a Mira YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's beautiful.  :)  But... I'd rather have the bog-standard one.  That's what I like about the Mira, it doesn't have the quintuple-A flame top, bird inlays and all that gubbins.

Not slagging off PRS, but I always preferred the plain-jane models like the Standard.  I'm an SG/Melody Maker/Junior kind of guy.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

DONT EVER underestimate PRS 'private stock' ive played 3 of those and they really are considerably better then Gibson CS IMVHO.

I really cant believe your saying that when you actually played one or more!

Sorry, but thats my honest opinion anyway..... Maybe a bit overreacting though...

I don't even want to imagine the price for a Private Stock PRS.

I'll stick to the cheapy yet good quality ones, or even a PRS Standard 24. The idea of a custom 'Custom 24' just depresses me.

They are £10k.

To play one you'd have to be $%&#ing Evil Knievel.

Although they are possibly the most beautiful guitars ever made - Most amazing finishes ever made, and some of the best inlay work ever conceieved.

The Private Stock guitars are works of art - Irrelevent of how well they play.

I have my eye on a certain Gibson semi which belongs to a mate in the USA. He has promised it to me and I may collect it when I next see him.

I don't want to put words in Nick's mouth, but I don't think he's saying it isn't any good.

Just that it's not the kind of guitar you take to Jam Night at Bob's Country Bunker.  Hence the "wall hanger".

No offence or anything but wouldn't the price tag scare some people from playing it?

I couldn't bare to think of the premiums on the insurance of the PRS.

I'm sure its a darned nice guitar to play but isn't the price tag of £10,000 more to do with novelty more than anything else?

For example lets take a PRS 513. I'm not sure of the top of my head how much it is but wouldn't the difference really come from the PRS novelty?

Here are my two fenders - a reissue '57 strat and a 1975 USA tele.

Used to have a 335 but sold it - I really do regret that now!!
I think I hate being indecisive.

It's roughly £2500.
