If you are going to go for so called romcoms on DVD look for something older like Breakfast at Tiffanys, or some old Cary Grant films

Theyre way better than anything recent

I thought it was great for the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes, but the hour or so in the middle (when they're staying at the big house) bored me to tears.

But it's not my kind of thing really.

Yeah I would agree to some extent. Romcoms are not my thing (honest  ), but that was about as good as they come I reckon.  :)

Partly because I think Vince Vaughn is extremely funny in general.

What about 'There's Something About Mary'? Thats pretty funny. Failing that Death Proof with Kurt Russel is a laugh! There's lots of chicks and a few fast cars!

How about any of the early KEvin Smiths? Chasing Amy is a particular favourite of mine, Down with Love, the best homage to the Cary Grant era films

not a comedy by anymeans, but my favourite romance film is 'Un Homme et Une Femme' by Claude LeLouche

Wow! Lots of good films, thank you all! We saw a recent Hungarian comedy and had a great [cough] time. With all these films on the list, this relationship had better be a long one. 8)
