Scorpions Clip - Black Dog
« on: February 10, 2008, 06:20:01 PM »
Just love this setup so much (BlackDog => Fulltone OCD => Budda SD30 => Danelectro ReelEcho), so I did another clip.

Shame on me I didn't even look up the proper chords, so this is really a quicky played out of memory after trying around a bit. You Scorpions fans may really diss me for my sloppyness, still it was FUN

Thanks for the nice comments, yeah it's a Full Tone isn't it

Funny thing is that OCD was lying in its box for months and didn't get any love, I thought it's a mistake purchase, so I wanted to sell it. Mistake I made is to think it needs to sound good into a clean amp, until I mistakenly hit the drive channel with it and instantly had these dripping harmonics and fat rhythm tones.

Love it. Why am I not playing in an 80s hardrock band?  :(  :cry

Nope, it's the stock "Budda Phat 12" which is in the Superdrive Combo.

A decent speaker with lots of mids and fullness, that actually needs to be pushed quite a bit to open up, or it's done with more preamp sizzle, like in this case.

Thanks man, bending and shredding in the 22nd fret of the LP was actually quite a stretch for my thick fingers. I don't do that very often these days and need some re-practising above the 15th fret as I get more sloppy up there.

When my VintageModern arrives I'm gonna do Big City Nights and Coast to Coast, promised :O)

Very nice tone.  I'm new here and wondering if that type tone is possible with a s/s/s strat?  I'm looking to get a set of BKP's but don't know which to go with.

Thanks dude :o)

I guess mic placement and mic preamp (mackie old 1202) has an impact too. I usually take my time moving the mic(s) around before I'm happy (that was a tip from Mr. Page of LZ).
