Well, fretting is probably not the correct term. Probably articulation is better but then a more specific aspect of that. Anyway, ive heard a guitarist play arpeggios, but then on the frets and that idea kind of facinated me. He had alot more timing fret/picking tricks which absolutely blew my mind. Basically placing your fingers closer to the frets dampens a tone, but there is much more going on harmonics/dynamics wise IMO. I for instance do bends far away from the fret.
It at least for me gave a whole new perspective on how to set up a guitar, the action, fret size but also the relation with the fretboard and which strings to use. Kind of why big frets and low action dont work for me basically.
Anyway maybe a nice idea to ponder about on a rainy sunday....
