Posting Guitars?
« on: February 18, 2008, 10:59:24 PM »
Hey,

so when you're posting out a guitar in the mail, how do you wrap it up best and where do you (typically) source these materials from?

I have the hard case, but I'm talking large stiff cardboard sheets, polystyrene foam, etc.

Cheers!
Ian

I've usually used a large cardboard box with a load of bubble wrap in the past. You could try getting a guitar-sized cardboard box from a local guitar shop.

Bubble wrap from any local hardware store I should imagine?

1. Buy lots of guitars from eBay.
2. Keep the boxes and bubble wrap around your house, anywhere there's a bit of space.
3. Use them to pack the guitars you sell on eBay.

That's what I do, anyway.

Ha ha, well I guess that's be efficient? Even with the reason behind having so many boxes.

I used three full rolls of big bubble wrap when I sent my Tokai SG off and put it in and old deckcair box :D and then sent it by Parcelforce 48. Cost about £25 I think but it arrived no problems.

I have done this a few times - not a problem in most shops as long as you are a regular customer.
I think I hate being indecisive.
