Time for new clips. Mules again.

I changed mic to a standard shure 58 and miced it close, was recording some clips to show a friend how the delay sounds (a Diamond Memory Lane). But I also recorded to play with my fuzz which I've been a bit unhappy with lately - so i tried a couple of settings... I might as well share it here with you.

There is no EQ or compression applied after, only slight reverb.

First let's hear the gibson les paul '59 reissue in bridge position playing some classic rock n' roll riff in the left speaker. Between the les paul and the marshall 1974x is an analog sunface with nos NKT275 with volume and fuzz controls at 3 o'clock. The guitar volume is on 9.

Next, Let's listen to the clean sound of the neck pickup with the memory lane delay engaged, set for some delay with modulation. I don't know what I'm playing here, just backing up myself with some blues chords and trying to play some licks at the same time.

Thanks! I don't use the fuzz alot because I don't play classic rock anymore. I mostly play pop and strum chords with a pretty clean sound. Occasionally I use the fuzz for melody stuff although I've been thinking about getting a different fuzz instead.

Nice fuzz tone there. The clean sounds great.

Are these AIV or AII Mules?

It's AIV. Calibrated set, with nickel covers.

I really like the fuzz.  Of course, the cleanness of the neck sounds very bluesy, which I also like and am kind of looking for in my own (planned) set of BKP's.  One question though.  Did you  improvise on the clean neck sample or is it a song cover?

Just improvising, one take, the chords are Am Dm and Em (sometimes E7) = simpy a blues in A minor. There are tons of blues-songs with those chords. I guess I kept the "vibe" of the song "double trouble" in my head a bit when I played but I didn't pay attention as to follow any song, sometimes I stay longer on a chord (I think, maybe I should listen to it? heh)... The solo-notes i play are just improvised tho, I'm not playing any theme melody either.

Don't know how I missed these clips but they are both bloody fantastic!

The bluesy vibe of the clean clip is wonderful to listen to while the fuzz clip has a terrific tone that sends you back years.

Excellent!   :D

Lovely clean. With a little bit of dirt. The mules do seem to want that bit of dirt, which I guess is why we have so few clean mule clips on here.
