I found an EQ pedal in the FX loop of the Powerball helped cut out some of the higher frequencies, which got rid of the slightly 'hairy' distortion it can get. Also helped tighten the amp too and make it even MORE aggressive.

I am indeed, johnny!

Its the combination that made it: the PB through an Uberkab. I'm not getting any unpleasant fizz, just saturated, sharp snarling high end. I may use my EQ to take out >6k or so, as you suggest steve.

I anticipate good results with the EQ.

In other news: my TSL with a boost and EQ in the FX through the Uberkab sounds pretty damned good too!
