The joys of TLA's - I assumed it was "----- Old Stock" as Fender use NOS for 'New Old Stock', new instruments made using the original machines/processes. However VOS appears to be Vintage Original Spec :)

Yep, Vintage Original Spec.  It means the guitar has lightly aged hardware and colour, basically.

Oh Dave liest jetzt deutsche Magazine? LOL

If I listen to those videos, the original 59er is so much more open and crisp, like a blanket over the speakers on the VOS reissue. Probably they haven't realised the original pickup was scatterwound - guess Gibson should speak to a certain Mr. Mills when considering to equip their top range...
