Somebody else's Slowhand clip....
« on: March 02, 2008, 12:48:26 PM »
...there have been a few comments about the lack of Slowhand clips lately.  There was a wickedly awesome Slowhand clip on here once, but for the life of my I can't find it anymore.

Then I realised that I'd saved a copy to my own PC, so I decided to repost it :)

I had nothing to do with the recording of this clip :( & can't remember who did either.  All I remember about it is that it starts with the neck then goes to the bridge about halfway through.  If you are the owner of this clip, thanks & is there any chance you could knock up a few more please? :)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

Its my clip, have not heard it in ages actually. Dont have slowhands anymore,my strat now has Apaches in it.Which are fantastic, best single coils i have heard so far,ill try and do some clips of them soon but i cant help with the slowhands other than a couple of old song demos kicking around.Cheers.

Hi Steve,

I sent you an email via your site.  Great tunes.  Others should check them out.

For others, I don't know if Steve is around.  Anyone know about his rig or effects he might have used.  Compressor?

The tone in this clip is the tone that I have been searching for.  I listen to it compulsively.

I am almost certain these are the pickups for me.  Just need to know a few parameters.

Cheers.

i think steves old studio rig was a valve booster into a POD. you'll have to ask him though, he was always experimenting with stuff in his studio.

Hi, Steve here. Just spotted this post had been boosted back into life.
I recorded this short demo as follows: Slow hand Strat>Valve OD Pedal>Pod into Zoom digital recorder, just with a tickle of reverb and delay from the Pod.

Im Now using a Vox Tonelab for home recording but am in the process of geting an isolation speaker cab so i can use my valve head for home recording.

Thanks for the interest.

steve,

Cool.  Thanks for the response.  Was it the  DHA purist valve pedal that you used?

Also, please check you PMs.

Thanks and Cheer!

Great.  Very much appreciated.  I am somewhat new to guitar effects.  If I am understanding correctly, there are a number of OD pedals that can get that job done (if one can play like that  :D).  What about the pickups?  Do you think one needs the  Slow Hand set to get there or will, say, the Irish Tour or Mother's Milk work just as well?

School me!

Very interested in the opinions of others as well!

Cheers and Thanks!
