String Tension (Acoustic Guitar)

Hi All,
Quick question
I currently have 12-53's on my acoustic now and it sounds great but I want just a little more low end so I'm going to pick up some 12-56's.
So here is my general string tension question.
Strings put tension on the neck by pulling it forward. Wouldn't the low sting being thicker require more tension than the high strings thus twisting the neck a little? And would me going from 53 to 56 make it worse?
Thanks in advance all
Chris

only in the same way it is with all guitars... generally when they twist its because of the characteristics of that particular piece of wood more than the extra string tension. although it all obviously plays a role

Am I just over thinking this or would it be better to go with 13-56 for even tension across the neck?
Lots of people use the heavy bottoms light tops and i never heard of it being an issue but you never can be too careful.
Any other opinions? thanks

Don't really see it being a problem either. I have used all kinds of string combinations and never damaged a neck.

I play big strings on all of my acoustics, but I tune down 1/2 step as well-I love the feel-changes the tone,of course, but It is the only way I can halfway carry a tune vocally-
-its great for leads,too...big strings...relaxed tension-

I use a Washburn acoustic to play slide on - I use a 16-60 set with no ill effects on the guitar neck - For fingerstyle I use 13s on my Martin (not set up for 13s and came new with 10s) - also with no ill effect. So go for it.

Hey Ben,
I got a Larrivee L-05. Its a great guitar for the price. I was able to pick one up from a small Larrivee dealer for $400 less than Sam Ash and other stores since he does not have to mark up for employee wages and stuff. Couldnt be happier.
Funny thing is i emailed daddario and they said if I do not get it setup for the strings it will twist the neck...
How does a setup help the uneven tension from adding thicker bass strings and leaving the treble alone?
oh well, im going to play it for a while and take it from there. prolly just end up getting regular mediums (13-56 as ben stated). not sure if i trust the med bottom/light top combo.
thanks all
