Sounds great, I prefer the sound of that to the Vintage Modern I think, though its less Marshally but I suppose thats to be expected :P Does sound as high gain/modern/scooped as I was expecting.
Strange, I find it has too many mids LOL, anyway, my dream amp would be the Shiva as Ch1 and 3 and the VM as Ch2.
How easy is that Tascam to record with? I'm trying to decide whether to go for something like that or get a USB mic interface and stick to computer recording. Right now I cant get a good mic position for rhythm tones, they always sound fizzy and have some kinda weird mid thing going on that sounds bad.
Not sure how good the mic preamp is when hooking up an external mic, I never done it so far. For close up recording, an SM57 and a decent mic preamp are unbeatable. The Tascam is for me just because it's quick and I can use it for rehearsal recording without much hassle. For actual recording, as you own an SM57, I would get a decent mic preamp/audio interface thing, a la presonus or similar.
Oh and another question whilst I'm here. If I remember right you have a VHII bridge and Rebel Yell bridge, in different guitars? I just put my RY in my LP and it sounds good but I think I still prefer the more vintage sound of the Mules in my Epiphone. Does the VHII sound less modern compared to the RY?
hmm, let's say the RY has more balls, the VHII has more scream, well, I found the VHII bridge a bit "boring", it gives a great 80s rhythm sound, but lacks complexity in the mids for me. I would prefer a RY over an VHII, but probably the mule is in between the two as it's more balanced throughout all frequencies.
