what pickups would work well in alder??

ive never really had good experiences with alder guitars... but i just love this guitar

the specs are

Perfectly balanced solid Alder body is contoured for comfortable play
Active pickups included two humbuckers and a passive single coil; they help reduce hum and noise by offering superior performance and giving a thicker fuller sound than single coils alone
Two tone and one volume control are recessed into the body
These controls plus a five way pickup selector switch let you create limitless tonal variety!
Angled headstock helps increase the tension of the string on the Graph Tech Nut and therefore helps transfer string vibration to the guitar for superior sustain
The Tune-O-Mattic brige with string-thru-body design also helps increase sustain
Increadibly fast Set-In Maple neck
Neck joint is sculpted for comfortable play
24 jumbo frets and Ebony fretboard with adjustable trus rod and Abalone dot inlays
Sealed black Grover tuners with 18-1 ratio for ultra fine tuning (Grover model 102-18B)
Black finish and black hardware create a sleek look
Width of the neck at the nut: 1 5/8"; at the 21st fret: 2 3/16"
Neck taper/thickness at the 1st fret: 21.5 mm; at the 12th fret: 23.5mm
Scale length: 25.5"
Actual Weight is only 8 lbs

The word is that Holy Diver excells in alder. Another one that comes to mind is the Crawler if you want a more classic sound, and it's been mentioned that the Painkiller is voiced for alder aswell.

I have a holy diver in my 1 piece alder wolfgang.  It really is superb; punchy articulate and tight, not woofy or tuby at all.  Really good for crunch and clean sounds.

The HD was a little to middy, in that guitar, to me, anyway. although it wasn't bad I just thought giving the Crawler a try. The crawler vintage in a way, very balanced.
Its a lot like the HD but a little warmer and with less top end. I but the HD in a mahogany winged strat type, and it worked out great. Dam I love BKP Once you use one they're are no other pickups.

Nice guitars, guys! Alder guitars sound beautiful. The quilt on the blue guitar is really nice, and the Kramer is so metal.

I have a couple of alder guitars, but my favourite is my ESP M2 Custom neckthru. It's got some cosmetic battle-scars and rubbed hardware, but I love it all the more for that :D
