yes very nice indeed phil, but i am in the general thought that nothing can compete with a 'properly' reliced guitar. i.e. played for many years on end in smokey clubs, which are now 'smoke free' lol. seriously though i don't think you can quite beat srv's no 1 for relicing, or rory gallagher's strat

The problem is taking those guitars out to play now is becoming a liability.  Having one that can be replaced if anything happens is worth it.  Since I have guitars which are over 50 years old, I know how they feel, and I have to say that the Bravewoods feel just the same.  John spends a lot of time working on the feel of the guitars and it shows.

I totally understand phil, don't worry. Tha bravewood looks very nice, the amount of time and effort to getting it looking that genuine must be astonishing. I know about your guitar collections aswell, you have a very nice collection  :o . Although i don't post much on this forum, i'm usually browsing

Thing is, that Rory Gallagher finish crazing isn't just about age and use. the guitar lay in a shuck in Cork for three nights.

I wonder if Fender do this on the custom shop re-issues. Perhaps i should take a run down and check the hedges of Cork for guitars...

That'll be the "relic" strat that's basically unfinished with transfers on it?

It's frankly disgusting Fender have the balls to charge what they do for it.

I don't know, man. I never noticed any transfers on it.

In all fairness, the Gallagher strat is a lovely playing guitar, and does sound more than decent.

Yeah they sound good, it's just the sneakiness of implying that it's been finished then relic'd to that state when it's not the case at all.

And for a thousand pounds less you can get a really good custom shop strat relic that's actually been done like they say they are
