So, to go about selling some BKP's
« on: April 05, 2008, 09:10:47 PM »
Well, a while ago i had a chat with Tim.  This was after my massive post at the end of last summer over my consternation that i did not get the tone out of my self-custom build that i wanted, turns out due to my very underdeveloped knowledge about pickups and "my ideal tone" my pickup choices were wrong.  I have, however, thanks to Tim's help and suggestions figured out what pickups will work for this: http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9239 guitar.

Now because of this fact i obviously need to sell my BKP's.  So i have run into a partial roadblock.  I live in the US so a few things are a problem:

1. - I don't live in the UK
2. - Due to the fact i do NOT live in the UK the demand for BKP's is chiefly overseas
3. - Engaging in frequent searches for BKP's on US ebay has turned up little to nothing, so i don't think any online demand via US ebay will suffice if i am trying to sell a product with a BKP label.
4. - I don't know how many of you all are in need of a Gold Covered VHII Neck and Gold Covered Nailbomb Bridge, but my guess is very few or none at all; because, as i have gathered, the general concensus here is: "i don't have enough money for another set (as much as i would like one)" or "I have enough sets thank you kindly."
5. - Most of you don't like, as i have heard resounding many times, gold hardware

So you can see my dilemma.  What am i to do?  I need to get rid of these pups by the end of this summer!

I'm considering a calibrated nailbomb set for my Ibanez RT, but if these would fit without having to remove the covers I may have to consider it. Don't want to get your hopes though as I just put a payment on an Yngwie strat (bit of a discount on the discontinued model). But I'll look into it. PM me with your asking price.

My ibanez is my "beater" guitar so I don't care what it looks like with gold pickups as long as it sounds good.

Sorry to hear that, o9. What pickups did you decide on?

I want a Nailbomb bridge and a VHII neck... but not gold covered. So yeah, I can see your problem.

i am going with some calibrated Cold Sweats (i almost wrote "gold sweats"    ), Ceramic bridge and Alnico V neck.  Tim said it would work far better for what i am looking for in a V with a Mahogany body, sounds to be a good plan, now all i need is my Egnater Rebel and a Blackstar pedal to BREWTALIZE it up!

I am surprised you aren't trying to sell them on Ebay. I would be willing to bet that you could sell them close to what you bought them for. I saw a pair of Mules go a few months ago for over $300. Just put a starting price on them (the minimum you would be willing to take) and if they don't sell then you are no worse off.
But I would be willing to bet they go for a pretty penny. :)

Well, you do have to pay Ebay a fee to sell stuff, but i am sure it is a pittance.  I will see how it all goes.

well Jonny, does this mean you are in the market for a Gold Nailbomb Bridge or a Gold VHII Neck?

Don't know. 'Money issues' unfortunately have to go through my parents for the time being, and that's like talking to someone through a brick wall. They can hear you, they're not looking at you, and think you don't know it.

So yeah.. If it was possible I would have wanted the Nailbomb bridge, even if it were possible to get Tim to distress it.

Sorry if I got your hopes up though. If it's an consolation my hopes already sunk knowing you were selling them. If you get what I mean.

The only way I can go about is by bank transfer but even that is new territory to me. Parents don't allow me to hold a debit card or anything such as that.

well, i know very little about bank transfers myself as i have only done a couple, and even then had help.  So i could ask MY 'rents about them as they are pretty encouraging when it comes to figuring out money matters (would be nice if they were that encouraging about everything  ).  If you want references for how good i am at paying my dues i can direct you to my ebay profile page so you can see all the positive feedback i have gotten, or i could try and dig out all of the old shitee and contacts i have CD and Tape traded with and you can email them and ask about my trustworthiness.  I am willing to do a lot (though not more than i really HAVE to) to get these things out teh houze and off teh block with my money in my pocket so i can buy me some new ones!
