Which P/Ups?
« on: April 07, 2008, 03:13:56 AM »
Heya,

What pickups do you recommend for my Ibanez 7 string? Basswood, maple bolt-on, rosewood fingerboard.

I'm looking for something with a tight low end and full grindy mids for the bridge. Of course Djent is essential. For the neck im after something that will give me fluid leads, but still crisp enough for fast runs.

I'm playing tech/prog in the vein of Meshuggah, Sikth, TesseracT, Between the buried and me, Cynic etc..

Secondly, I'm after a bridge pickup for a Alder body, maple neck-through, ebony fingerboard, 6 string V. Something fairly hot, but not overly tight or bright

Sorry for the long post, but im sure you guys wont mind

If you're after a sikth tone Pin uses a ceramic Nailbomb.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

How about Painkillers? Would you say they are more versatile, but with lower output?
