Downtuning an 'nez?

If i were to get a S7320 with the ZR trem....
What are the tuning capabilities, i like to try out different things and have good floyd rose experience.
But ive never used a ZR trem and i really like the look of the S7

I haven't used a ZR trem, but I thought my experiences might be helpful:

I use an Ibanez RG470F/TBL with a licenced FR trem. I've dropped the tuning down to A-E-A-D-F#-B by increasing the string gauges to 56-46-36-26-18-13 (I think - the strings I use are D'Addario EJ22s). The tension is about the same as standard tuning with gauge 10 strings, more or less. I had to do a bit of adjustment to get it just right, but nothing too difficult :)

If I remember correctly the ZR trem can be used either as a floating trem a la floyd rose or with the balancing springs which keeps the trem in the right position when a string breaks etc. so if you cant get on with it in balanced mode, you should be fine with it in floating mode.

Heavier gauge strings will help with string tension, How many steps were you thinking of down tuning? a 10-52 with a .62 for the low b would be good for one to 1.5 steps down. I use those gauges on my sc-607 (25.5" scale) tuned to A standard (A-D-G-C-F-A-D) and they feel like 9-46 with a .56 at standard tuning.

well ive got schecter damien 7 (26.5" scale i think) with d'addarios 10-46 with the low 59 and i think i need thicker. I tried open C tuning with a low G whichh was fun but i wanna stick to standard only a few steps down.

Im used to different tuning as my peavey with a floyd has 13-56 in drop B tuning. i was just wandering what the ZR trem is all about, if it aint that different from a regular floyd then i wont be put of it. Not that i wouldnt try it but ide like to be able to drop it down
