Sorry but I hate it, call me new fashioned but it's far too normal to bear the Steinberger name.

I love old Steinbergers, the original hollow body (and neck!) composite GL-2T is near the top of my GAS list, the single pickup GM-1T following closely.
Of course I'd rather a Bill DeLap headless hollowbody to either of those 8)

Looks awesome!

I was going to look at the Steinberger Spirit models - How much would one of these new ones set you back?

they don't sell any Spirits new anymore... except an L series copy, which is out of stock anyway.

I've got a Spirit (the standard cricket bat shaped one in black, HSH with EMG Selects).  I've been thinking of selling it, but it's always had a loose fret which I need to get sorted before it's eBay-able.  I didn't know they were out of production.

Not to mention they seem like the ultimate high quality travel guitar. Unfortunately they cost about $4000 and the waiting list is at least a year long if not more (assuming he's still making them and can still get the Trans Trems)

If you do finally decide to sell it, let me know. Might well be interested, wobbly fret and all.

We've discussed our Spirits a bit before Philly, but I never tire of discussing mine... I must say I really love it :) I must badger you once more to change those EMG Selects for something else first though - even DiMarzio's are a substantial upgrade over those. I had a Super Distortion in mine for ages - tone control disconnected - and was rather satisfied.

Funnily, the bass EMG Selects seem alot better, bas(s)ed on comparing mine with a real EMG.

Well, I have a MegaDrive (great pickup, no matter what anyone says about DMarzio!) and a PAF Pro which are sort of earmarked for the Spirit - just because I have nowhere else to put them, and the narrow polepiece spacing matches the Steinberger bridge.

I'd rather sell it to be honest, but I never got round to sorting out the fret situation - I've tried tapping and/or pressing it back in, but the slot must be loose, it probably needs gluing.  Which I haven't dared to attempt.  I should take it round to Feline some time.

i should be talking you into selling it at a bargain price, but i reckon its definately worth you spending those few minutes to change the pickups. they sound perfect for the guitar.

The guitar looks pretty good but I cannot get used to the lack of a headstock.

*disowns*

Unless you're Danish. Everything that was cool about the 80s (big hair, guitar solos, the perfection of rock, more guitar solos, pink guitars and guitar solos) somehow passed Denmark by. And we were left with what you now see on Eurovision flashbacks.
However, the 80s were the coolest time ever in America.

On topic: so even Steinberger follows the  "fancy maple-top" trend going on at the moment. The trem system does look cool though.
