i watched le divorce the other night, i didn't think it was that great, and it seemed to be fairly racist...

Is that the one with Naomi Watts and Kate Hudson?  So racist about the French, presumably?

yeah.

seemed to be fairly racist to everyone. was slagging off the americans too for being naive, kinda thing, slagging off the english for being racist against the french, slagging off the french for being amoral, etc. etc.

Saw the original Russian Solaris on film four the other night, friggin great!
I love Tarkovsky.  If you enjoyed "Solaris" and haven't seen "Stalker" then I'd recommend that too.

Just watched The Boat That Rocked. From the look of the adverts it seemed like an average cheesy comedy, but I actually really enjoyed it.

+1 Nice mix of individual characters. Going to see Avatar in the week, looking forward to it

Saw "Avatar" in 3D at the Odeon Leicester Square and I've got very mixed feelings.  It's an absolutely incredible achievement and there's now a live action 3D movie that proves that every imaginable scene, action, quiet moments etc. can be given a new twist through the extra dimension.  The world created is amazing, a visual feast and beautifully realised and that includes the characters as well as the scenery.  My hat is doffed to all who worked on it and I think it is going to be seen as a very important moment in cinema history.  BUT, I hated the story and the script so much I came out muttering, "my mind is blown but I hated it".  My girlfriend loved everything about it and is going to see it again tomorrow.  Without me. :)

Avatars storyline does look really shite. Gonna go see it soon though as the 3D effect seems like its been really well done from what I've heard.

Went and saw Nativity with my family earlier.. was actually better than I thought it'd be! Proper cheesy family xmas movie but had some funny bits.

Saw a french movie called B13 today. Imagine the Transporter, but in french. Oh and instead of cars we have parkour. It was pretty good.

My current favourite is an award winning short film : " Madame Tutli-Putli " that can now also be found on You Tube :

Packed with ( for me ) some lovely allegory - and clever ideas within the animation work.  :)

Just finished watching 9. Very, very good. Dark for a 'cartoon' but was amazing. Another dystopian setting too, that and B13 has really fired up my love for the setting.

It Might Get Loud would have been exponentially improved if instead of Edge, Page and that poseur dude they had Ry Cooder, Scott Henderson and Mattias Eklundh

I'm a little embarrassed to admit I saw Gimme Shelter for the first time last night. It's a good flick, crazy to see Hells Angels smacking hippies at a fee concert on a speedway, you couldn't make it up. I known there were murders at the gig but didn't realise that they got the moment just before on film.

Just watched Shine a Light. Not bad - some good moments and a few not so good moments. The stuff with the Clintons at the beginning was pure ego.

Alos just started to watch BSG (new version). Just finished the mini series - all good so far. Nice and dark.
I think I hate being indecisive.
