Yeah, I like Sophia, she has something about her.

It's not the most original piece of work, lots of clichés (like our hero befriending the silent little kid), it's just one of those "works for me" films.  Other people might hate it and I wouldn't particularly blame them.

Oh, it was loaded with action cliches. The wise old man, the byronic hero, the guy that you think is a bit of a bad guy to begin with but was good in the end, the kid, the outsider earning the trust of the insular community, the dead family, etc etc etc. Borrowed rather heavily from the alien and predator franchises too.

But, it was a viking scifi, and it was very entertaining.

Just Finished atching The Fantasic Mr Fox' Absolutely superb. Wonderful old school stop motion animation and great characterisation.

Who ever mentioned Moon earlier on I agree it's brilliant and while nothing like Silent Running it certainly shares it's roots. Sam Rockwell manageing to act to himself for the whole film was an amazin feat.

Matters not. Very unlikely to have the opportunity for an erudite and learned conversation with her. Wouldnt be high on my 'to do' list if I did, either ;)

Doh!

You dont TELL her shes on the to do list. Besides, I'm sure I can find plenty of other ways to get shot down by hot B list celebrities.

Watched It Might Get Loud this afternoon, it's OK. I suppose it's aimed at a broad market but anyone interested in guitar music will already know all the information in the film (Page starting out in skiffle, U2 getting together when still in school, Whites obsession with Son House, etc.). I can't help but feel that the film was opportunity missed. Jack White talks about how effects take you away from the music, The Edge talk about how his style is all about effects but they never discuss it together, face-to-face. That could have been an interesting debate. Most the 'jams' are just playing the cords from one of their song, not very interesting and the other two join in.

She is on my list. I do have a very long list though.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I saw The Road yesterday.  That was really good, a very sad film.  I was worried about seeing 2 films with a similar setting being a bit samey, but they're very very different :)

I watched The Road tonight. Very depressing indeed. I did think that the characters in it seemed fairly well fed though.

I hope to get to see "The Road". I got absorbed in the book though and that always makes me think twice before seeing the film version.

I'm thinking of giving the book a go. I found the film unrelenting in it's depressive nature. It's very, very bleak.
