-ish.  :|

More like stubble, to be honest.

Obviously the film would've been that bit better if he had a proper beard.

(I don't mean ScarJo, there's no truth in those rumours... )

er... what?

Don't worry about it.  It was just the word "beard" setting me off...

The Hurt Locker: Good film but not as good as some reviews, lacked a little depth for me.

Good Hair: Documentary about afro-americans and their issues with hair. Excellent, well worth a watch. The commentary was also good, quite a few interesting facts that didn't make it in the final cut.

I've owned the DVDs for a few years now but I finally got around to watching Ichi The Killer and Memento.

I'd seen Memento before but couldn't remember too much of it. I enjoyed it and I think I followed it all the way through!

Ichi The Killer was 1 I bought on a whim about 4 years ago because I'd heard alot of things about it, but never got around to watching it until tonight. I enjoyed it more than my 1st attempt at Asian cinema a few weeks ago (Audition) but that's probably down to the fact Ichi is a far simpler film and I understood it alot more and could follow it easier than I could Audition. I must sound like a huge simpleton, but I can't think of any other way to explain what I mean

Yeah, agreed, I thought it descended into cliche quite a lot - the sub-plot about the missing kid seemed to be there just to "Hollywoodise" it, give it "a story" it didn't really need.  And the bit at the end where he goes home and can't settle was very seen-it all-before.  You can just imagine the production meetings and talk about "character arcs".

I didn't even think it was as nerve-rackingly tense as some people claimed - you knew there was no way the main character would get blown up halfway through the film!

I did like the bit where they had the standoff with the sniper in the desert - it was fascinating, the idea of taking on an unknown opponent at a vast distance, almost invisible in the heat haze.  But even there, the film made too much of the way the men were suffering and dehydrating in the heat; I don't think film can convey those feelings to people sitting in a nice air-conditioned cinema (not until the advent of Heat-O-Vision!, anyway).

Kinsey. Pretty boring tbh, a few funny moments but I didn't really enjoy it much.

Not films but I've finally got into The Wire and quite liking it now :) Fringe and House have started up again on Sky 1 as well.

I watched Visitor Q.  Completely $%&#ed up, but I didn't really find it all that disturbing... in fact there's something curiously likeable about it.   :|

(In fact, it's rather less disturbing than The Only Way Is Essex, which I stumbled into on ITV2 after watching the film.  :? )

Think I'd sooner be disturbed by Visitor Q than watch that POS Essex programme!

Another Takashi Miike film - Sukiyaki Western Django.

It's a Japanese Western, shot in English (why?  :? ), featuring an utterly appalling cameo appearance by Quentin Tarantino.  Not good, not good at all.

Diary of a Mad Black Woman - I'm not sure why I put this on my rental list  :? Definitely in my top 10 worst films, only made it through about 35 min. Bizarre combination of revenge, romance, christianity and Eddie Murphy-est (unfunny) comedy, absolutely terrible.

Is that of those Tyler Perry films?  Not something I have any intention of watching, ever.

Just watched Serenity. I rather liked it.
I think I hate being indecisive.
