I'd never even heard of it. Might check it out.

I watched Splice last night. Enjoyed it, if not a little bit disturbing though.

I saw tron legacy in 3D at the cinema just more than a week ago and was quite impressed, expected it to be rubbish, for visual effects it's superb, one of the best I've seen recently, however it's massivley influenced by the original bladerunner and also Tron number one, which were all based on artwork, so if you like the visual side of things it's for you. I wasn't impressed with how grossley loud the sound was though, it is very very loud and over masterd using brickwall limiting which at times almost ripped the hairs out of my inner ear, not enough dynamic range, it made the odd word indistinguisable in very important parts of the plot, apart from that niggle it's not too bad, worth a watch lol

After.Life - low key horror thriller with Christina Ricci and Liam Neeson.  There's not much to it, but it's well made and looks good.

I Love You Phillip Morris - Another to add to the small list of good Jim Carrey films. Half Catch Me If You Can, half gay love-story this film has plenty of dark comedy mixed with feel-good moments. There are flaws, Ewan McGregor character is terribly underwritten but overall good upbeat movie with a simple message.

Robin Hood - Ridley Scott's version of the well worn tail is full of detail, acting and design but it's dry, long-winded and dull. The film deals with the years leading up to the point at which most films start. It's like a Robin Hood prequel but without the fun. The best parts of the film (apart from the general attention to detail) are the action sequences which are all high quality. Crowe's accent is rubbish (switching between Midland/Scottish/Irish in the same sentence) but it's not the big issue spoiling the film that some have reported. An Average film.

On the TV front, finished Peep Show - Series 7 and  The Inbetweeners - Series 3 both are first rate comedy and highly recommended.

I finally got around to watching Scott Pilgrim Vs The World that I ordered a while ago but it never turned up.

I enjoyed it and thought it was funny in places, but I'm not entirely sure I 'got it' to be honest!

Haven't seen it, but it sounds pretty much as I expected.  I'll stick to the Errol Flynn version!

I watched Night Of The Creeps - not the greatest teen zombie sc-fi horror movie of all time, but I hadn't seen it since the 1980s and it holds up very well.  It's a shame Fred Dekker made RoboCop 3, it was such a stinker it killed his career.

just watched Tony Gatlif's swing , it was in french (which i only know a smattering of ) and we couldn't get the subtitles but that didn't seem to cause any trouble in understanding what was going on.
Very nicely shot and the musical performances were fantastic!
It's a must for anyone even remotely interested in gypsy jazz!
It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

Black Death
Psychological horror with Sean Bean, set at the time of the Plague in 1348.  Started well, with a strong atmosphere, then seemed to go absolutely nowhere.  Maybe I missed something, but this was a big disappointment.

Bad Lieutenant - Port of Call: New Orleans
I'd read reviews saying this was a bizarre incoherent mess with a wildly over the top performance from Nicolas Cage.  I think those reviewers need to watch more genre films.  And more Nic Cage films.  Yes, he's in full whacko mode, but it's appropriate to the story (unlike, say, his truly loony performance in the Wicker Man remake) and he somehow remains extremely likeable throughout.  And the plot made perfect sense.  I enjoyed it very much.

The Loved Ones
Australian horror in which a teenager is kidnapped by the weird girl he turned down on Prom Night.... and it seems he's not the first unfortunate "crush" she's taken home to Daddy.  Blackly funny, very gory.... nothing hugely original plot-wise, but it's extraordinarily well done.  Loved it!

Black Swan.

Not what I expected. Has a horrible injuries motif that repeatedly made me feel uncomfortable, think I'm getting squeamish as I get older. Not the simple ballet rivalry I expected and is really rather dark and well worth a watch.

La Cabina.

Legendary horror short that I fully expect most people to think this is rubbish, but view it with the fact it was made in the 70's in Franco's Spain in mind. Don't bother with a subtitled version, you don't need to hear any of the words for it to work. Amazing genre switching and packing millions of stuff subtly into a 35 minute film.

Just watched Aeon Flux on TV. Everyone said it was terrible, but for a high concept sci-fi action thriller, I thought it was fairly decent.

Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll - didn't think the whole thing really fitted together that well, but I enjoyed watching it! Great performance from Andy Serkis.
