Appaloosa - Western starring Viggo Mortensen, Renee Zellweger, Jeremy Irons and Ed Harris (who also directed, co-wrote, co-produced and sang a song over the end credits!).  Quite talky and deliberately paced, but in a good way - it feels like a much older film and held my attention throughout.  Very strong performances, especially from Mr Mortensen.  I liked it a lot.

Gainsbourg - Typically French, very quirky. I enjoyed the first half but the whole film didn't work for me.

Fire in Babylon - Documentary about the West Indies cricket team of the '70s & '80s and it's a good one. I'm not sure non-cricket fan would be particularly interested in it but there is quite a lot of politics/class/race discused.

Inside Job - Documentary about the Banking crisis of 2008 is a somewhat downbeat viewing but give the best explanation about what happened; that I've yet watched. I've seen so many folk on TV try (and fail) to describe what a 'credit default swap' (and various other aspects of finance), after seeing this film, I finally know what they are.

On the TV front Weeds - Season 4, I'm a big Weeds fan and this series was good but the series arc(s) are a bit hard to believe. Caprica - Season 1, Volume 1, not a patch on Battlestar Galactica  but also not as bad as some of the reviews. It feels like two shows stuck together but it's not a total loss.

Puppy love = true love coming of age shitee with special effects.

Surrogates

Value of experience/living your life thinly veiled critique of, well, this, in great part (online activity, social networking sites, that sort of thing) that was actually quite good.

Rogue

A surpisingly entertaining thing with a giant crocodile. I liked it.

I enjoy watching anything silly, like:
Pick of Destiny
Kick Ass
The Hangover
Hot Tub Time Machine
The Other Guys
History of the World Part: I
Blazing Saddles

And cheap trashy stupid movies, like:
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers
Vampire Hookers
Tokyo Gore Police
Samurai Princess
Vampire Girl vs Frankenstien Girl

I also like the movie: Once Upon A Time In The West

100 Feet - Famke Jansssen plays a woman trapped in her house with the vengeful ghost of her abusive husband, who she killed some years earlier.  The "high concept" is that she can't leave because she's wearing an electronic tagging device which will go off if she travels more than the titular 100 feet.  But wouldn't you be more worried about the ghost?  :?

Piranha 3-D - (.... but actually saw it in 2-D).  Yeah yeah, lots of blood and titties, and ooh, Kelly $%&#ing Brook..... but so what.  Absolute $%&#ing tripe.  I have to wonder just how much lower Alexandre Aja's career trajectory can go.

Haute Tension.... The Hills Have Eyes.... Mirrors.... Piranha 3-D.... ?

Paul - Not anywhere near as good as Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead but still has its moments. Frost and Pegg are good and when on-screen they have that chemistry from their previous films but it's just not funny enough for me. Huge amount of geek in-jokes and references make it watchable.

True Grit - Not much to say about this Coen brothers film; absolutely superb in every way... a modern classic.

got to see The Green Lantern today with my lad, I promised to take him & ditifully did. Not an amazing film but a good popcorn one, enjoyable & Ryan Reynolds is spot on in it. The only thing I don't understand is the criticism the film is getting about the CGI, how else were you suppose to do a film about multiple alien intergalatic cops?
Peter Skarrsgard was brilliant in the movie as well

Diary of a Wimpy Kid - just watched it with my daughter, liked it much much more than I thought I would do.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Just watched Hanna. I thought it was alright, nothing amazing and quite predictable, but entertaining enough. The soundtrack by The Chemical Brothers was awesome, makes a nice change to have electronic music instead of overdone and cliche'd orchestral scores :)

True Grit - Good movie with some very solid performances.

Sucker Punch - Better than I was expecting. Not a great movie, but the action is intense and there actually is a story behind all the action - not that it's a deep plot though.
Mississippi Queens, Stormy Monday/Apaches, Emeralds, Nailbomb (bridge)

Was it the theatrical cut or the extended version?  I haven't seen either but I hear there's a fairly substantial difference in tone between the two.

I watched:

L'Immortel (aka 22 Bullets)  French thriller with Jean Reno as a semi-retired gangster taking revenge on a rival gang who tried to murder him.  No surprises here at all, but it's very well done and the Marseilles setting adds to the atmosphere.
