Finally got round to re-watching The Big Lebowski again. Loved it this time, I think every other time I tried to watch it I just wasn't in a filmy mood!

Calmer than you are...

Man The Big Lebowski is a masterpiece. Probably hands down the funniest film ever made in my book. I could watch the Sorry-I-wasn't-listening-mug-hits-forehead[i/] scene on a loop near forever.

Phew, think I'd want a cup of tea and alittle sit down after watching those two together.

Just watched True Grit - Nice atmospheric film but left me wanting more of a story.  Like Red Dead Redemption without being able to control the characters.

Hangover 2 - The first Hangover was a pleasant surprise and pretty funny.  Second one okay but not as funny.
Don't rush to see it, wait until it's on ITV 1 on Christmas evening in 5 years....

I don't know about funniest film ever made but it's definitely up there, and right now I'm struggling to think of something else to rival it :)

One of my favourite bits is "...but they're amateurs"

Cheers Tom - I'd made a decision to avoid this after hearing Mark Kermodes review. He absolutely hated it! Did you find it racist at all?

I've seen them both so many times I guess they've lost some of their impact, but I always appreciate the atmosphere and the strange little details they're both packed with.

The Wicker Man, in particular, just seems to get better and better with each viewing - there's no other film remotely like it, which is why Neil Labute's wretched attempt at a remake was so utterly misguided.  Strange that the director Robin Hardy made so few other films, although he has now made has own "companion piece", The Wicker Tree, coming later this year.  I fear the worst.  :?

Not really racist but they didn't exactly see past the stereotypes of Thai's very well.  I'd go as far as culturally condescending in the way Borat was. But Borat was funnier.
But there were a few laughs, Mark Kermode is great but my standards are much lower than his....

Fertile Ground - Low budget horror from Adam Gierasch, the director of Autopsy and the Night of the Demons remake.  To be fair, he's tried to do something different from his previous schlock, but absolutely nothing about the film works.  Terrible.

That's a lot of DVDs.  But I probably have even more in my collection.

Funny to think of dying and leaving all that "stuff" behind.  Makes me feel a bit depressed actually.  :(

But it least it's passed on to someone rather than ending up in a skip or something.

After.Life - a bit rubbish but entertaining enough I suppose. Didn't like the actor who played Anna's boyfriend but he's always a bit cr@p  It has lots of Christina Ricci not wearing anything which makes up for it a bit.

Kung Fu Panda 2 - Brilliant. Just bloody brilliant. Go see it now!

X-Men First Class - Fantastic treatment of the X-men origin story. Michael Fassbender is seriously incredible as Magneto/Erik Lensherr. Also features the greatest cameo bit in all of history.

I finally got round to watching The Fighter. It is pretty good, just a real shame that they didn't include the Arturo GAtti trilogy in the story. Having said that the focus of the film wasn't really about boxing. Also, Amy Adams is very nice indeed.
