The premise for both is just so good.

JCVH - Essentially vampires are walking the earth again this time killing lesbians. Because the church doesn't do gay, they won't get involved. Whereas Jesus who preaches love for everyone comes to their rescue. With kung-fu.

It's amazingly awful. I was pissed out of my mind when I watched it with friends and I still remember sitting there going WTF?! (not in a good way).

BH-T - Elvis is not dead, indeed he's in a retirement home posing as an Elvis impersonator. His friend is JFK, who is also not dead, but is conspicuously black (it's a conspiracy!). The king is Bruce Campbell. The retirement home is attacked by an undead mummy. It's a plot full of win. It's just not as good as it should have been.

One positive thing I have to say about it.... I got quite a good price when I sold the DVD (presumably to someone else taken in by the promising title and concept)

Just watched "The Third Man", I now want to tell all films that aren't the third man to shape up and try harder.
That soundtrack!
It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

I watched The Amazing Spider-Man over the weekend.

I'm a big Marvel/DC/General Superhero film fan and enjoyed it for the most part. Something didn't quite work for me though but I'm damned if I can put my finger on what that is! Sounds stupid I know but I can't explain it in any other way.

I like checking out actors and seeing what films theyve been in.

Generally anything with Christian Bale in is worth watching.
Tom Hardy is in some good films.
Al Pacino for just being the angriest mother $%&#er ever and making me feel like im a choir boy.
John Malcovich.
Mel Gibson (That dude is actually crazy....... he aint actin)

Check out films by Shane Meadows such as This Is England, A Room for Romeo Brass and my perspnal fave Dead Mans shoes.

Also I swear to God the meaning of life is in the Big Lebowski somewhere!

Jim Carey.  Comedy is subjective but I think the vast majority of peopel find him hilarious.  If you watch stuff like man on the moon and I love you philip morris though youll see how good he is as an actor.  My missues insists she hates him but cant deny how much she loves every 'serious' film hes been in!

I love films.  As people have rightly said some people will tell you citizen cain and artsy farsty films are the best.  I love those films too but things like Termintor, Rocky, Robocop, Will Ferrell films and American Pie stand up next to them.   I thought the Batman Trilogy was really well done to.
I couldnt see how Heath Ledger could even contemplate doing the joker after Jack Nicholson.  I went with the intention of trolling it to $%&# only to find that his performance actually made Jack Nicholsons performance very foergettable!  When the Joker set fire to that pile of millions/billions of dollars I just though WOAAAAAAH

Dredd - awesome.  exactly what i wanted from it.  no origin story, no saving the world from a terrible threat.  just a drugs bust, judge dredd style.

Cloud Atlas.   some will hate it, I cant wait to see it again.   I didn't really like the book.  when i finished it it seemed like an exercise is writing styles, but it stayed with me enough to want to watch the film.   As for the film, i would say 80% of it works great, some is cringeworthy, some of the ethnic make up is verging on the offensive.  Some of the make up is so good you will never guess which actor is underneath.   a few days later i am forgetting the bad bits and want to see it again - think it might be a grower.

Seeing the bad reviews slating The Hobbit saying it was rather boring I didn't expect too much.

In fact, although theres a couple of parts that I didn't like, I thought it was a pretty good film and definitely worth watching.

Dredd was brilliant. But I think the proviso as to whether you like it or not comes down to whether you know the source material. If you do, you'll love it. If you don't. you'll think it's shite and wonder what all the fuss is about.

I'm only dimly familiar with the comics, and I enjoyed it.

It was waaaaaaaaay better than the stallone one.
