Films! good, bad, recomendations, and general film talk

Started watching Breaking Bad tonight and really rather enjoying it  :lol:

I've only watched 2 episodes so far, 1 of which ends with the bathtub scene that you'll remember if you've seen it  :lol:, so still settling into it but I'll definitely be watching all 25h11m of it that I have on DVD asap!

for me the weakest point was the end of season 1 - start of season 2.   so much so that I actually stopped watching it for a year then did 1,2 and 3 all in one go, it was just a couple of annoying characters for a couple of episodes.

UK version, or uncut?  I've only seen the former, and that was bad enough.  I don't think it's completely worthless, but I have no wish to ever see it again.

It's well acted and produced, the content is a bit out there at times but I'd still rate it higher than something like Salò, which I thought was a bit dreary.

I preferred (for want of a better word) Salò, I'd certainly consider it worth watching again.

Ya, know? I actually have no idea which version it was but if it was the cut version I don't think I want to see what was cut. It's a shame because I actually thought it was a beautifully made filem and had alot to say, especially with the aggressive way that pornography has been moving for a long time now, a warning of things to come? Not sure that justified the content, though and I'm sure I'm reading too much into it. It's late and I think I'm Mark $%&#ing Kermode  :lol:

There was only one scene I actually found truly horrific and it was for the same reason that I found the end of Human Centipeed 2 disturbing.

The scariest thing of all? It's on YouTube in it's entirety for anyone of any age to see so I made sure to file a complaint about that (after I watched it :lol:).

I remember the director having a lot to say about political allegory, the way the Serbian authorities were "raping" the people etc, but once I saw the film I think he was pretty much just trying to shock people.  Which is OK in itself, so why bother with bogus justification?

I've seen the uncut A Serbian Film and whilst it was pretty bad I'd probably watch it again. It was alright. Maybe I'm just too desensetised to this sort of thing thanks to the internet and shock sites :lol:

I tried watching but lost interest mid way through the second episode. Completely ridiculous yes. Jane still watches it, I disappear upstairs to play guitar when she does.

Yeah I've just seen episode 4 and it was cr@p, might give 5 a chance as the first 3 were enjoyable, but it seems to have gone downhill quickly!

I think it's the scene with the pregnant lady in the car that's being eluded to.
Centipede 2 really didn't do much for me either Dieter Laser made the first one for me.

Yep, that's it. I found that and the NewBorn part disturbing. And you know what? I'm happy about that  :lol:
