So, my puter, with all my musics decided to pack up last week. Somewhat annoying, no doubt, but I replaced most of the stuff from backups, it was all rather good.

A good ate, being a decent source, lent me his Ipod so I could restore any further gaps (not nick the music, I just truly could not be bothered ripping a couple of hundred cd's again) as we have pretty similar tastes.

That being accomplished, I put the ipod back in my coat pocket, and all was well.

Until about 5 hours ago, when I realised the ipod isn't in my coat any more. I've either dropped it or had it nicked in the pub. I feel sick.

Anyone know somewhere does cheap ipods?

How much is the capacity?

You can get the smaller ones at under £50 (still a rip off IMO but you did say 'ipod')
I too use chicken as a measurement.

I know, I know.

Still worked out OK-ish. 130 lids for a new 'pod nano 8gig, and a free dock for it. Sold the dock on for 30 quid, and my stupidity cost for the month is down to a hundred, which i can live with. It's about par!

Yeah, that has got to hurt. I felt bad enough when I left my phone on a table and it wasn't there 5 minutes later. As long as you are still mates though, I think that counts for a lot.
An external HD is really worth it, small money for the amount of time a hard disk WILL crash. I have had far too many, and £30 for the external is worth it

True that.

I have made extensive backups. Mostly, on the laptop my missus' school gave her.

Still cool with me mate though, which is the main thing. I'd sooner drop the cash than lose a bud.

Sue destroys her iPod approximately every 2 years, her 1st (old style 4 gig nano) got wet in heavy rain, her second (old style metal 8gig nano) got put in the wash.

I await the fate of her current one... :)

Seriously though, ouch. I hate having to re-buy something, I'm all for new aquistions or upgrades, but it hurts to have to pay for something you already have and weren't planning to replace.
