It's a strat body, pointy headstock, jap model. Bolt on maple neck, maple fingerboard, Jackson/schaller FR trem, single HB. I'm guessing it's a model one. Is it worth £169 they're asking???

£169 is cheap for any half decent guitar though in the UK.

HJM, you could try signing up at www.jcfonline.com and posting a thread with links to the guitar if possible for more opinions/issues to watch out for

Is that an 80's model 1 HJM? If it is then I'd snap it up for that price. They were as good as the Jacksons when they were made. That could be an EVH project!

what logo is on the headstock?
should be the guitar shaped one

if yes, its the model1 .. 300 is a bit steep but over here in europe those axes can be scarce and most of the time overpriced, so yea i think its a good deal.

i paid 400$ shipped for my charvel

Yep it's got a guitar shaped Charvel logo - I'm going to give it a test drive Saturday when I pick up my 6000 Gordon Smith refret!

The original model one did not have a Floyd - it was a strat type trem
Model 2 had Kahler fulcrum to begin with and later had a jackson floyd.
The Schaller /Jackson floyd didn't start to appear until the logo changed to the script style one . But there may have been a few exceptions or it's been modded.

Some how I'd convinved myself it had a maple neck...it's rosewood

And it played like a dog...pretzel neck, and the price was up to £189.....they saw me looking
