I have been using nickel strings now for a couple of years. I was open minded about trying them having heard that they provide vintage tone and I have never gone back. I too use 11's. I am gonna check our the SOBs when I next order a batch I think.

^ That's what I was expecting to think myself TO - jury's still out for me at the moment, but I was impressed yesterday, let's see how I feel when I start noodling in a bit... I found they solved some issues I've had for years, and are possibly going to create some of their own tonewise - I can't really say yet.

I would definitely recommend Fernando tries them though, they're different, and they might be just what he's looking for.

Sorry, man, I was actually joking! I've been using pure nickel DRs for years! :)

I did wonder actually.. :D

Jury's still out for me. I think what it's going to take is putting nickel-plated back on when these wear out... and finding I hate the nickel-plated!

I have been using the Snake Oil strings for 4 months now, they are great. They last forever and are noticably warmer/rounder than standard strings. More musical i would say.

Just to add, fenomenal customer support... Just got the package lost... and Dean from SOB told me he would send another one, with a tracking number this time, so we won't have any problem...
Top service...
This doesn't exist on my country, period

Anyone know how long they take to despatch? I ordered 10 sets on the basis of this thread on 27 September and they still haven't arrived. I've emailed a couple of times. First time I was advised they were waiting for a batch to come off the machines, second time I was told they had a faulty batch which had to be replaced.

Hummm I've ordered on 22th September... Ordered 5 sets... as I live in Brazil and can be long the delivering (and I also moved and got 3 weeks lost on that) I just sent a email this week and the answer was like it got lost in the way... Let's see what happens
