Any BKP humbucker will be a step up from EMG, regardless of output.

MMs to like to pick up low mids. If the guitar had lots of that and not much high end I can see how it would be dark on the bass strings and its high resonant peak keep it brighter and cutting high up.

But it aint a dark pickup.

it is bright for leads, dark for rhytm
kinda bipolar

The PK is a bright pickup, but lets not forget its ultra-tight, heavy low end.

Well whats my shopping list then for a passive switch over
for my Eclipse. I wont be running a neck pickup.

I'll switch it to my ibanez since it has the stock neck.
And my ibanez will have the 85 in the bridge and the 60
in the neck. I guess I can sell the 81
... The eclipse is my main guitar though so
I hope this is going to be worth it!!!!

So what all do I need exactly for the switch..
Id be going with a ceramic warpig. 2 or 4 wire
havent thought much about that really.
What pots and values etc etc....

Not to add confusion to the mix but where would a Ceramic Nailbomb fit in this discussion?

I can't tell if you're making a joke or just being a d!ck.  If it's the latter, turn it off "brah", there's no room for it here, take it to harmony central for that kind of talk.

I was actually trying to throw out another option for you.  You said you wanted an organic pickup which is right in the Nailbomb's description.  There was a lot of talk of how other pickups compared to others in previous posts in this thread and I was wondering how the ceramic Nailbomb fit in with all of that.

Also, welcome to the forum.  You'll find this a respectful and helpful place and it's the reason I and many others stick around.  If you were just making a joke ignore all of this, sarcasm is so hard to read in text.

If you couldnt tell I was joking, Then $%&# off man seriously.
You must be kidding right? Sounds like somebody pissed
in your cornflakes, If you want to be all gung hoe about it
then go ahead.... Let me break it down for you brah.... haha

The use of "brah" 4 or 5 times was a dead give away
for sarcasm. I mean really. Think about it.
Then the multiple use of smileys at the end???
Another give away.

Come on man get real. Dont give me that bullshitee.

like that... use your head dude. :gib:

Lets just leave it at that. It was a sarcasm.

I hear ya.

Never would I drop a load and ruin some perfectly good cornflakes.
Although, I dont like them that much anyway, And if I did...
Theyd have to be frosted.

Drunk? Me too.
I will probably be heading to sleep in a few.

And if anybody wants to add to this discussion
with some ceramic nailbomb opinions for
what Im doing (described in first post!!)...
Then bring it on!!

Until then, The ceramic warpig is looking pretty killer.
Still... Its a big step to go from active to passive..
There are no warpigs around here for me to jam
on... So it would be a leap of faith so to speak.

1) Welcome to the forum.
2) I think I could probably class myself at least in the category of "any idiot" or higher, and I wasn't sure from your post above whether you were being sarcastic or just a dick. Of course, the two are not mutually exclusive.
3) Given LmDN's response in which he apologised if you *were* just being sarcastic, your response to that was, frankly, pathetic.
You said "I dont want any trouble around here" and "Why would I come
into a forum, Being NEW to this forum, And start actually throwing out disrespect like that..." preceded by "Then $%&# off man seriously.
You must be kidding right? Sounds like somebody pissed
in your cornflakes". So, which is it? mutually respecting the people here, or throwing out disrespect? The choice is yours.
4) There was really no need for sarcasm above, and neither was it funny, both of which contributed to the rather unsightly scene we now have.

You may have noticed so far that this forum is in general a welcoming and pleasant place to frequent, which is why there are a lot of people who stick around a lot. Far be it from me to guide others in the proper etiquette and manners on a forum (hell, I'm probably the least well-mannered one about here), but I did feel compelled to write in response to this. I've been very impressed with how helpful, and for the most part knowledgeable the people on these forums are. It might be in your interests to get on side of those people who will likely help you if you ask a question here, rather than getting everyone annoyed with you for trolling (which is precisely what you were doing, let's be honest).

Anyway, I reiterate my first point, welcome to the forums, and I hope you find a more useful time here in the future, perhaps aided by more reasonable responses of your own...

Thanks again brah. It was one VERY small sarcastic post.

Really. Dont take a seed, and make a $%&#in forest with it.

was really VERY un-needed. Sorry if you got your

And for what it's worth, I have a very similar setup and was going to offer my advice to your original post, but frankly with the way you've been acting, I'm not inclined to bother.

Good luck with whatever you do choose. You'll find any of the BKPs mentioned would suit you very well indeed.

Jeeezus

I leave you alone for five minutes and look!

Seriously, arguments are an extreme rareity here, lets try to keep it that way. Talk pickups, people.

I here what youre saying about the MM in your guitars, eric. I dont doubt thats what your heard. I'm just suggesting that its a bit of a special case - in my alder/mahogany Epi LP it was a bit dark, I believe because the low mids added (or, rather, there wasnt enough treble in the guitars tone to come through strongly over all the low mid). In my alder/maple Dean superstrat it had/has (I have a somwhat modded MM in there now) a thick low and low mid and a bright, crystaline high end.

Iron Lotus, given that you dont exactly want a BKP EMG (thankfully - I like them too, but never the twain shall the tones of these two brands meet), you want it to melt flesh in low tunings and be responsive to the volume, I'd say youre on the right track with a C-Pig. Very much so. I wouldnt go for an MM because they dont back off well. Pigs, strangely, do. (And so do painkillers, but the C-pig will keep you in the gain to which you've become accustomed).

For the neck: the closest BK to the 60 is a Cold Sweat (at least the closest I know of).
