Acoustic GAS!
« on: June 23, 2008, 04:40:29 PM »
I've been thinking about an acoustic for a while now, and seeing as i've never owned one before, I thought of this as "Productive GAS". So I locked myself in my room and starting going through all my guitar magazines until I found something I liked. Then I found that ibanez has released a new range of Exotic Woods Acoustics, intrigued, they gave the zebrawood one a guitarist choce award.

I then discovered that they're also doing one Padouk (sp?) a wood which i'm considering for a future Warmoth project, so I tried one out on saturday and...

The Single Inlay.

The control bit, with built in tuner.

Runs the control bit on 2 AA batteries, and also has an XLR out, for going straight into a PA.

The back, I just thought it looked nice.

Has a great sound, looks great and all for £250! Bargain!
Driving in my car, smoking my cigar, the only time i'm happys when i'm playing my guitar!

wow! the eq section looks a bit cumbersome, but i wantee none the less. Even though I love my yamaha acoustic, i just can't justify another one.

Those B-band/Ibanez pickup/preamp systems seem really good - had one in on a 12 string Ibanez we worked on recently

They're good acoustics.  The singer in my band has a walnut one & she loves it.  Those guitar come with two different body depths too.  She went with the deeper one.

The active controls are canny too.  I've got the same in a 12 string.  The XLR out is a godsend from a PA mans point of view.  I wish more guitars had them when I'm doing the sound at gigs.

looks nice for the price. I've been having A GAS too recently. I had a look at some of Carvins ones. They have some seriously nice electrics too for really good prices, a new lp single cut...anyway.
I played on a Lowden a good few years ago and it has always stayed with me how goods it was but they're a couple of grand.
