That natural finish tele w/ maple neck is so beautiful, I almost want to buy it.  I will never forgive this forum because i am actually starting to like the look of teles.

Shame on you BKP forum, shame on you.  PDT_021

MUAHAHAHA i knew it was only a matter of time... 8)

EDIT: On topic...
I've played a few telecasters around your price range, and the Baja is definitely best bang for the buck. Great guitar. However you've GOT to go and try a load out before deciding on a tele. There's quite a lot of variation between different models, and in the end it all comes down to taste.

My vote goes for the Fender (Mexico ) Baja.

Lovely chunky neck, very good stock pickups ( sorry Tim ) and 6 way switching which brings traditional Tele tones, Peter Green ( ish ) blues tones, Strat(ish) tone - and both pickups on together in phase for a fatter rock sound. The nice thing being that cosmetically it is made to look like a 50s re-issue with all the tonal options 'hidden'  in the volume pot and traditional pickup selector. I have one and love it !  :D

I have a Baja too and wholly recommend them - mine came perfectly set up out of the box.  The pickups are great, but I might get some Blackguard Flatpole 50s though, just because I love to tinker.

:( I now can't try one tomorrow (Friday) so have to wait until Monday... lol, not sure I can wait that long! :)

I will try out as many as I can though, and see which I like the feel of the most.

Ok, so i'm going to try a '52 Reissue in a few hours, and if I like it, I will get one from Ebay, but can someone please tell me if this is  good deal?

It seems cheaper than the rest i've seen, but am starting to wonder if there is a reason for it's cheaper price...

Cheers,

How do you mean?

I think the wiring diagram is on the Fender site under 'support' if that's what you're after?

I mean does it use coil splitting in the PUPs, or capacitors to change the tone, that sorta thing.

It's just such a progressive, maybe even "metrosexual" place these days, this forum...

Tele love here, there and everywhere.

You're all very, very wrong :)

Seriously, just buy a proper guitar and don't make yourself look like a complete **** on stage when you play one of those bulbous lumps of ***** :)
