Nice to see someone mentioning Visual Sound... I thought they weren't boo-teeky enough to be viewed as cool.  8)

I have the Route 66 and H2O, and they sound good to me, but I'm pretty ignorant about the pedal world.

:) yes, I a/b'd the J&H in Sounds great with all the stuff they had in, which included a lot of top money, booteek stuff, and it was easily the best Tubescreamer clone, with the added bass boost, and the bonus of a complete extra pedal (the Hyde distortion side) for the same money.
I've also had a Route 66 and that was a top pedal too.
if I could afford it i would get one of the new Liquid chorus pedals to replace my Boss.

Great company too; always answer emails quickly and sent me some new footswitches FOC!

Excellent, nice to see some Visual Sound love on here!  :D

I like the way they keep their range relatively uncomplicated and don't try to do everything - the overdrives in the J&H, Route 66, Double Trouble and Route 808 are all the same overdrive.  And the Liquid Chorus is the same as the chorus in the H2O (but with the bonus of stereo).  And they make those things clear rather than trying to con you into buying pedals you don't need.

The V2 pedals are great bargains, although the stand-alone pedals seem a bit pricey in comparison - but I'm still planning to get the Angry Fuzz.

I have a Jekyll & Hyde too. Got it for £45.00 off Ebay. Well worth it!Disregarding what I paid, I think it is a quality pedal and I use mainly the Jekyll side with settings low.

I know I started the bad press for the HT Dual but I've decided to stick up for it now for the following reason.

If you have a bad sounding or average amp, or even a great amp that you want to sound totally different, the the HT Dual is a very versatile and powerful pedal, with great valve clean, crunch and distortion sounds.
It also sounds good out the emulated output into a PC, so in a way it's not competing with the Exotic and Visual Sound Stuff, it is a preamp that works for a number off applications.

But for me, I want 1 or 2 boxes that add different levels of gain to my existing sound without changing it too much.
I'll probably go back to transistor pedals, not because they sound better, just because they interact better with a valve amp.  If I had the pedalboard space, an extra socket for the AC supply, and enough money, I would keep the Dual and I can see why people love it.

Yes it does stamp it's sound over you but at least it's a good sound.  So I'll be giving it a thumbs up as I sell it!!!

I forgot to mention that the dual concentric pots are rubbish and the ISF control is a load of bollocks......

i can second that. its a very nice pedal to own, if like i do, you want a bump into tube tone for a lesser amp. Firstly i used mine into a marshall 30dfx amp using the clean channel on the amp. It was the best that amp ever sounded. I now use it into a fender champion 600. It sounds good through that too. I can see what people say about it having its 'own tone' though.

Id like a new marshall valve amp but they are all so $%&#ing loud. Id happily pay the same price as a 50w marshall if they just made it as a 5w version. I know im gonna end up getting a bigger amp one day and just not getting the best out of it.

What I'd Buy

Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Mayhem

Why I'd buy it

Until I can afford a Prestige RGT, my guitar is perfect, it has the perfect pups in it and I've just bought a really good amp but despite 3 channels, it still doesn't go far enough with the gain it offers. The Twin Tube Mayhem looks to be a fantastic pedal that offers gain at all levels with great tone and will be mine as soon as I have the £125 I need burning that hole in my pocket.

Agreed on the Dual Pots, I however find the ISF control rather good. It's just another tone shaping tool after all and unlike the co0ntrols on some pedals it does actually make a difference.

Yeah I guess so, It's more the name of it that I'm not getting.  I'm not a tweaker though, I only like to use volume, tone and gain so it probably says more about me than anything.  Too many buttons confuse me!

The Dual channel option is great though, any other pedal I get I think will have to have that.....

I think I might have found what my "theoretical" £120 would go on:
