I reckon they're goping to be sleepers until the press get them reviewed and love one.

Buy one as soon as they arrive

That's exactly what I'm thinking...

Luckily I've calmed down since last night - why do I need another tele right now? The only real reason for me is this "get one while you can" feeling...
"Internet-induced-GAS" methinks!!

Back to the pickups though - and I'm itching to try out BKP tele pups - on the tele site, this looks like another one (like the baja) where you end up feeling that there aren't too many mods you can make that improve it... (One guy even reports that his has got nickel hardware...)

What if you get one and it is so tele-sounding that you can't bring yourself to change it?

Then I'll change my Baja

I'm definitely getting a 'bucker necked Tele.  I'm going to tune it up to open G and bash a few riffs out....

I love the simplicity of it, and the groove.  Same reason I love early ZZ Top.

Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers anyone???  :D

Just fitted a 4way Blackguard 50s set to my Baja with a Callaham bridge - Too early to tell, but very nice - in the same ballpark as the Fender Baja pickups but with a lot more harmonic content and liveliness - been doing some Southern Rock such Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gimme 3 Steps as a test and harmonics jump out of the lead line lines.

The strings are still unstable (I am using an old set of boomers I had in a drawer, so I am not used to non nickel strings) - so its still a bit of a way to go before I have a full verdict, which I will share.

I love ZZ Top right up to and including Degeullo, though the last couple of albums are interesting.

Love the above song but "Jesus just left Chicago" and "Heard it on the X" have some great sounds

It's amazing how much Strat & Tele theres is in the early albums, but all anybody talks about is the Pearly Gates stuff
Goodbye London !

Cheers Elliot - I had a feeling it might!  So it's that or the Brown Sugar.

Going by name alone, it may have to be the Flat 50 with a Stormy....

This is so weird as I've just got my tele down from upstairs the other day, tuned it to G & started teaching myself Jealous again....Damn the Crowes are good! I may take a chance on a set of brown sugars...hmmmm

Off topic, but I'm glad to hear that the Flat 50 nails the early Black Crowes stuff as I've just bought a set for my new Tele and I love the tone of the Crowes :)

Actually Brow - I think you're pretty close to "on topic", a lot closer than some of my posts earlier

I'm gonna want to hear how it goes for you - I've almost decided on blackguards with the flat 50 for my baja. I wasn't particularly after a Black Crowes sound, but it'll be big a bonus ;D

After checking I've had Blackguard 55 Staggered pickups for my Tele, not the flat 50's  I don't know how much the 2 vary to be honest, but I'll be sure to post back when I've got them installed.
