Custom Guitar Cabs ??
« on: July 25, 2008, 07:46:19 PM »
I'm in the market for a 1x12 cab. The Custom Guitar Cabs flat pack kits look very interesting.

I seem to remember that someone here got one of them a while back - how did it work out ?

Any opinions out there ?

I was gonna get one then until read the info on the home page.

"We are sorry to announce that due to personal circumstances, we will be closing down custom guitar cabs with immediate effect. All orders that have already been placed will be honoured, but we are not able to take any more orders. We have now also sold out of all the flat pack kits, so we are unable to sell these as well.

We thank you for all of your custom, and wish you all the best! Keep on rocking! Jon "

Really buggered up my plans.

Why not go for one of these instead, with integrated microphone?

Those cabs are fit, and I seem to remember them getting great reviews in Guitarist mag.
(I also seem to remember ridiculously high prices)

Hmmmm, prices, about 4 times higher than I was wanting to pay. I'm sure they are very nice, but not not what I'm looking for.

Shaman - for similar reasons the Thiele Mesa cabs are out of the question in the UK. They are virtually unobtainable, and cost a fortune if you can find one - all Mesa stuff is very overpriced over here.

Anyone know anything about the Framus FR112CB that Thomann are doing for about £160. I'm not sure if it is open or closed-back. Even the Framus website is a little confusing over the matter.
I like the look of the larger size of the cab, I'd like to try a Hot 100, and it's also cheaper than the Orange PPC112.

I also have one (2 actually but one's reserved for TF) of the flatpack 1x12's from Custom Guitar Cab.
I might be prepared to sell one on for the right price. 8)
