Hunter... you're a good player, you deserve better.;)
Nothing wrong with that list, but Hunter's. playing skills do seem above the the list choice

Thanks thanks all, ohlala ... I am flattered!

It's weird, because actually with these songs I learnt to play guitar properly (i.e. I only focused on soloing before, but I have become a decent rhythm player).

We might be doing some more Aerosmith/ACDC/Metallica/Zeppelin soon, as we had a new singer taking over these days who has more of a rock range ... I am quite looking forward to be doing more soloing/showing off but also really enjoy delivering a tight rhythm and ambience base... kind of a grown-up thing maybe ...

I'd love to play in a covers band, seems a good laugh. Have to say I'm enjoying writing my own material acoustically by myself, but rocking out to Alive by Pearl Jam sounds like too much fun.
Mississippi Queens, Holydiver.

imo its fun for a bit but when you've done a load of gigs you get bloody bored of the same songs all the time. The only time I really enjoyed it was when we were having a good jam when soundchecking

Bizarre.  I'd hate to play original stuff.  I've always wanted to be in covers band, never an original band!

I just didnt feel any sense of accomplishment or achievement playing covers all the time (except when I learned the solo in My Sharona :P). Fun for a bit but it doesnt push you enough, not playing the stuff people want to hear in pubs anyway.

Nice one TF, I'll be checking some of those out.  We're always looking out for new songs to do, and we are very much in the same genre as (the mighty) Doppelganger.

You'll need two good guitarists to pull some of those tracks off  ;)

I've always played in bands that did mostly originals but threw in some covers to pad the set out when needed.  These were mostly just songs we loved to play rather than carefully chosen to appeal to punters:

So, all the covers I've done by each band I've been in (in chronological order):

Remedy
Guns N' Roses - It's So Easy
Rose Tattoo - Remedy

LuNcHbOx
Anti-Nowhere League - For You
Bad Religion - Lookin' In
Green Day - Basket Case
Radiohead - Creep
Sex Pistols - Bodies
Sex Pistols - Seventeen
Therapy? - Totally Random Man
The Wildhearts - Caffeine Bomb

BushPilots
Baby Chaos - Mental Bruising For Beginners
Baby Chaos - Rearrange You
D-A-D - Helpyourselfish
Saigon Kick - All Around
Saigon Kick - Killing Ground
Therapy? - Turn
The Wildhearts - Nita Nitro

Rocket69
The Almighty - Addiction
Backyard Babies - Highlights
Backyard Babies - U.F.O. Romeo
D-A-D - Evil Twin
D-A-D - The Road Below Me
Demolition23. - Hammersmith Palais
Foo Fighters - The Sign
The Lee Harvey Oswald Band - Rocket 69
Saigon Kick - Feel The Same Way

We never played all of the covers at any one particular gig though.

EDIT: Oooh, forgot to include the purely covers acoustic thing I did with a mate for a while... but then we never got as far as gigging

Unnamed Acoustic Thingy
The Beatles - Norwegian Wood
D-A-D - Laugh N' A Half
Green Day - Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
Green Day - Macy's Day Parade
Levellers - Another Man's Cause
Levellers - The Boatman
Magnum - The Spirit
Marillion - Sugar Mice
New Model Army - Marrakesh
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Think that was it...
