My guitar gas is cured for the moment, I have come to realise I have just about the right number of guitars that they get played fairly regularly and there are soooo many other guitars I want it just seems pointless. Plus I have bonded with the guitars I have so don't want to get rid of any.

Guitar gas has been replaced by mega amp gas however.

I want something to complement my stiletto, I love the amp but it would be nice to have access to some different tones. I am thinking maybe trem-o-verb.

I love the lead tone of the stiletto in fluid drive but I just wish it had a more modern rhythm channel, of course the TOV is probably the opposite of the stiletto. Maybe I will just have to bite the bullet and do Bogner XTC or Diezel, maybe I will wait for the Mark V.

Oh yeah, I really want a Keeley Crybaby but we are totally skint at the mo. :(

Have I rambled enough ?

Sounds like a case of KochGAS to me!

explain please mate

A Koch Powertone II does all the tones you will ever need  8)

I've been offered an SC245 for £1500.00 - is this good value? I'm not sure as not many seem to be sold on!

PRS guitars seem to hold their value very well, that's the sort of price I'd expect to see for a S/H one in a shop.  But maybe a bit pricey for a private sale?

Assuming it's all in excellent condition.

Cheers PHilly - it's in pretty good condition with a few little marks. It's a guitar currently owned by my guitar sensei (Rob Chapman) -  this has caused me to have some kind of strange feeling of attachement to it so wanted to get opinions from people about price!

Rob Chappers, eh?  :)  I suppose you might want to pay a bit extra for the provenance (as they say on Antiques Roadshow).  But put it another way, I doubt he'd get £1,500 now if he sold it on eBay.

I suppose so - although he has said that he only ever sells guitars to people that he knows. I do believe this as he is a thoroughly likeable and trustworthy man! Not sure if I would pay a grand extra though noodle!

Is it this guitar?

That my daughter can grow up in peacefull surroundings....

Diezel Herbert
A good Les Paul type guitar. (Yamaha SG2000 or SG1000).

.....and as mentioned before, that there would be 24 more hours in the day :D

Good caps for my plexi Marshall clone, and that i one day could afford Mercury Magnetics transformers for my amp projects........those things cost money!

Damn like being at school...I just knew my ungraded GCSE english would come back and haunt me

I would have no problem in being corrected, but nobody does  :(

Well, updating the GAS...
As I've no money to buy a nice Archtop, I'll try to do it in the Totnes School of Guitarmaking (Yes, the course is about 4 times the cost of a Epi/Gib vintage arch, but I'm planning do it anyway, if I can, I would have to quite my job and it's a very good job here in Brazil, even I don't liking it...)
The other guitar in the course (yes, planning two  :o) would be a Les Paul/L5S or a Strat to learn how to make it look vintage if they have this option...

i'll stick with probable GAS (i.e. the stuff I'm likely to buy in the near future)- if I go with everything I have even slight GAS for, I could be here all day.

anyway:

tele (japanese copy, most likely)
something with p90s, probably les paul special style (again, most likely MIJ copy)
bass of some description
epi valve junior speaker cab
tube town 2x12 speaker cab
speakers

A pair of Electro - voice EVM12L Classic speakers ( probably most achievable and excusable ).

A Yamaha SA2200 semi-acoustic /  or Gibson 335 chunky neck /  Gibson 335 Larry Carlton model.
( although I must say that my  Mississipi Queen equiped Tanglewood TH502 is sating this particular hunger to a great degree ) .

A Ceriatone  Overtone ( Dumble type ) amp.

Meanwhile it's soundproofing for the house,  the cat's dental treatments and decorating that is 1st priority ....
