i like the idea of the rosewood pickguard... but it doesnt half look clunky - especially around the neck pickup

I'm quite in to this for a choice of semi

It's a bit too woody for me - looks almost like it was dug up from the roots of a tree rather than built (no offence).

If I was ever in the market for a semi, I'd rather have one of these two than a 335:

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

You just KNOW those two are going to put together brilliantly.

I usually like clear finish in guitars  with beautifull tops, but this one from Mr Johnny Mac didn't grow on me and I'm a bitch for Spalted Maple

Strange Johnny, I was looking at Ibanez only I looked at the  AS93 for a possible venture into the fabulous world of the semi.

They do look nice. Ibanez do have a good range of semis. There are so many makes of semi out there now to choose from. The 335's seem to only come in 3 finishes, black, red or tobacco suburst so I thought that Spalted maple would be be cool, it is an acquired taste though and i wasn't struck on it when I first saw it but it has really grown on me.
Anyway I want me Feline more than anything really and when I get it this GAS for other guitars will probably vanish!
But Mr 38th I think you will really like playing them, Ihad a lot of fun on the ones i played at the LGS or IMS and with unpotted SM the tones would be out of this world!!

Yeah I am not in the market for a real 335 and if I were to get one of those or a washburn HB35, I wouldn't be too bothered about taking it to gigs. I have played Ibanez semis at LGS and they were superb in terms of build quality for the money. Given that I had a mate with the worst Gibson 335 I have ever seen/played a few years back.

The problem I have with those Ibanez and Washburns is that they are SO DAMN UGLY; they could play and sound godly, but I still couldn't bring myself to buy one!
Does anyone, bar Epiphone make a nice looking semi-hollow guitar on a budget?

A 335 is 335  copy or otherwise, they look the same.  :?

There are loads of other makes, indie being one of them, Tanglewood, Peerless, Peavey, Antoria, Vintage ect

I'm GASsing for suprisingly little at the moment. In realistic terms, only after:

A Warmoth HH strat with a Floyd, to be Holy Diver loaded
A Keeley Compressor
A Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Mayhem
Warpigs.

Anyone seen the 2008 Framus calendar?

Would love a Vortex Elite, or a new Ravelle/Dragonfly.

First time I've ever had gas for a V actually.

I can imagine Gwem choking reading that... :p
My last FM.
ESP Horizon NTII.
ESP Viper Camo.
ENGL Screamer.

:spits out drink in comedy way: :choke: :choke: :choke:  looks ideal for teh br00talz or shredding. i can imagine paul gilbert playing something like that.

was away over the weekend and saw an 80s V, with the rear routed controls. this one had a kahler and looked a bit wierd in classic white with no scratchplate. anyway, brought me to remember the guitar of the week 1984 silver burst reissue... and then i had GAS for a (non-kahler) rear rout silverburst V - with the controls in the proper 1980s place.

i'd also love a Flying V XPL, and Medallion V. I guess the medallion would be so far out of my price range this will stay a dream. a 70s V (non-medallion) might be more realistic i guess.
