New Original Metal Clip (Miracle Man)
« on: August 03, 2008, 05:59:39 AM »
Well my friend came over with his UX2 yesterday for me to give him a crash course in sequencing drums recording and some basic mixing.

So after he'd done with his songs i quickly picked up my guitar and used the patch he made for his charvel with emg 85 and recorded an idea that i'm currently working on.

So used on this was.
Guitar: Vintage VB8RQM
Pickup: Miracle Man Bridge
Modelling: Line 6 UX2 with spinal puppet amp and green 25 4x12 sim
Drums: Ezdrummer Nashville kit (With loadsa compression and a bit of reverb)

So anyway heres the clip.

The bass sounds way too loud and boomy to me. Track is good though, reminds me of Megadeth - Take No Prisoners in places.

Cheers for the comments _Tom_

I'm aware the tone isn't too fantastic as it was a very rushed recording before he had to leave so i didn't have much time to play around with the EQ so i pretty much just used the patch that he had made.

The bass guitar still sounds too loud to me and the whole thing seems a bit muffled?

I think the bass guitar sounds cool on the first clip.  It reminds me of a lot of those lo-fi thrash recordings in the 80's.  The bass was always really obvious in the mix, a little treblely too.  The riffs were alright and the guitar tone was pretty good.
BKPz: Nailbomb+VHII, more to come...

Oh yeah i forgot to add on the second clip its superior drummer 2.0 rather than ezdrummer & nashville.
