engl e530 preamp
« on: September 03, 2008, 12:34:01 PM »
anyone got experience of engl e530 preamps, was wonder which engl amps it's closest too and how tight they are compared to a fireball/powerball for that modern metal chugg sound

and if not, how tight/chuggy would it get with a tubescreamer

on a slightly related note, how tight/chuggy are passive pickups with tubescreamers compared to say active pickups without a tubescreamer? as there is a clip on youtube of the e530 with active emgs and it sound great to my ears

thanks

I have no idea about the 530, i hear it's just a bit too compressed.

But I just got a ENGL 620 and it's very awesome, but im now having to sell it because someone's stolen almost all my money.
