New Music Room
« on: September 21, 2008, 08:38:57 PM »
Hey, now everyone has moved into our new place, we have our music room full.. here it is!!

This is my corner, my Amp and my jap tokai SG.. with new pickups in.. sounds sweeeet!!!  My V is facing away as it has a broker string!! damn it. That needs a set of painkillers putting in.

Going further round the room we see my SG again (yey!) my stool, acoustic and my GFs Euphonium mute and trombone.

Here in the corner we have adams amp and pedalboard, His guitar is in the case and its an ibanez iceman, he has just sold his gibbo melody maker to pay the rent.  His pedal board is quite interesting, has a looper which is quite fun.

In the other corner we have mikeys spider and his pedalboard. along with his maverick guitar.  He seems to use his pedalboard for all his sounds and the amp is just to make it loud, he uses no settings on the amp at all from what i have seen.  The DM-4 does all the distortion.  That guitar resting against the spider is a tele copy made of some sort of plastic.

and here is mikeys bass rig... squier P bass and some cheap bass amp... sounds ok tho, for our needs at the moment, its getting upgraded according to mikey.

well there is the room tour... im the only one who seems to appreciate tone in this house, the other 2 guitarists are digital whores who wouldnt know a decent pickup if it hit them in the face (both using stock whatever is in their guitar, and harsh effect on effect squeels)

Damn that is a lot of digitalness.

I presume you have jammed with them, doesnt your starfield just drown them all out?

Very sorry to hear that one of your bandmates plays some sort of telecaster. My sincerest commiserations :(

Roo is so right here... my full commiserations - they need to get a real one, well spotted Roo

Nice carpet by the way

EDIT: Otherwise, forgot to add, all seems very, er, groovy... :D Twenty-odd years ago, I was involved in rooms like this - I can still smell them, hope yours smells a little better!

Indeed they do, Andy!! A real guitar, not any form of telecaster! ;)

Loving the look of your SG, spitfire! :)

We can agree on that. I didn't tell him, but I was severely tempted by Philly's white Tokai when he was selling - but the colour put me off at the time. Obviously looking at the picture of Philly's several times had some effect on me

Yeah, makes me feel a bit nostalgic for that white Tokai.  I still have the cherry one though.

The music room looks great, very impressive!  :)

it looks like the neck from an SG - but that must mean that the body is missing!! I guess it was broken sometime.
So many pickups, so little time

Now, if you'd been selling a cherry one at that moment, I'd have been all over you like a rash!!

Not now though, I'm going through some severe telecastering at the moment that might well use up all my gas money for the foreseeable future... (well, till December anyway :D)

I'd assumed it was a mandolin or something - but looking closer I think you're right...

We want to know more Spitfire :D

I assumed it was an SG which seems to have been unusually accurate for me

think that's a Carlsboro.  i thought it was a cornford at first glance too, but the comment about the other guitarists being digital whores made me take a second look!

Nothing wrong with digital! I know several pros who only use digital as they like the options and consistency of the tone
