GOOD!
Maybe I should see what her other work is like

just to clarify on my earlier post... I am not saying she is uggers, I am not saying she can't sing. Its the opposite, and indeed that version was better, the lyrics just let it down! so much wasted opportunity. I really like how she sings.

Ofcourse the guitarist would look silly with a pointy metal axe, but not with a real guitar (LES PAUL :D )

^Well said- agree with all of that. :)

Although I'm not sure if the guitarist would look anything but silly even with a Les Paul!

She sure is tasty though.

Very chunky performance. Great drumming / Thick bass. She could move into rock quite easily.

As a Gilmour fan I was a bit dissapointed but I think of may have been a bit of a spur of the moment kind of thing.

I don't think Floyd ever played that song live, it was recorded in a panic after Barrett left in early 68. So a 40 year gap and the fir umayances of Wrights death I will cut him some slack (this time)

Apparently Wright was supposed to be playing the show (and only canceled the appearence 3 weeks ago)
Goodbye London !

yeah, i saw that. i don't think it's fair to blame him for the performance (i actually thought it was pretty good  ) considering the circumstances... it was clear he was very upset (in the quick interview with jools).

I thought it was OK, but Gilmour does have a habit of becoming a little dull...

I wanted Jeff Beck to get up and jam!

And I LOVED Imelda May!!!

+1 - she was very lovely indeed. The guitar her guitarist was using has made me have second thoughts about selling my Gretsch!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Just watched it on BBC iPlayer - I thought that arrangement was absolutely tremendous!  I think I'm in love with Katy Perry all of a sudden...

Gilmour's performances were a bit dreary, but I think the two songs were to blame - they simply weren't very good, TBH.  Wasn't that Phil Manzanera on second guitar?

i think i liked katy perry's other song better, "i kissed a girl" was too rocked up, if that makes sense. it's like she was so aware it was a pop song, and wanted more credibility by making it more rock. i thought the guitar tone was much better in the other song, too. she seemed very thin on jools, too...

imelda may seemed pretty good, too. :)

Yeah, she could do with some home cooking!  Hope she's not going down the Winehouse route...

I didn't get the feeling she was trying to be more cred with that arrangement - it just looked like they were having fun messing with a song they've probably played a million times by now.

Oh........ I thought the pink sparkle Tele looked pretty cool....
