BK Nailbomb bridge in ESP Custom
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:01:35 PM »
Hi all, just registered here after a mate on another forum recommended I come post a tone clip, grabbed a second hand BK Nailbomb bridge pickup and whacked it in my ESP Custom shop Reindeer, so recorded a quick portion of one of my bands songs, as below.

http://users.tpg.com.au/scallen/forcedaffection.mp3

Chain was guitar into an MXR GT-OD into my 6505 into a Framus Dragon 4x12 with an SM57 on it.

No processing on the guitar at all, just quad tracked :)

That was fvckin Thrashtastic!  All except for the intro riff reminded me a lot of Hirax, really fvckin good.

That tone was PERFECT.  Flawless, i mean that is exactly what i would be looking for if i was going to play Thrash or maybe even Death.

Those pinch harmonics were also top notch.

All around awesome!  Do more! :D

try the new iced earth (damn great tones), sylosis (those guys can surely play without getting boring!) and trivium (yes, trivium. their new album is very original and technical)

Hey cheers for all the positive comments guys, you've put a smile on my face :)

I have reuploaded it since recording bass as I got a new ESP 5 string yesterday, so redownload it if you got it earlier, should sound a little better now.

As for demos from my band, have older cr@ppier ones on our myspace, http://myspace.com/bindingtheflesh

Re-doing everything myself now that I've purchased some decent studio gear so should all be getting replaced with proper tone like this recording soon!

went to the myapce page, killer stuff dude. If you dont mind what guitar equipment are you guys using( boogie, peavey). I hope you guys score a deal pretty soon, the stuff was really good in my opinion. I have been listening to metal for 25 years now, so I think I know what is good and what does not cut it. wish you much success

Thanks mate, always love positive feedback :)

Amp wise the older stuff on the myspace is with a stock Peavey 6505 through 2 cabs, 1 Framus dragon with v30's and one Mesa traditional with v30's, blended about 60% Mesa, 40% Framus.

The Cerberus track on the myspace is when I had just got into recording and is with a bias modded 6505 using Mesa tubes in the power section, still with stock preamp tubes, and just into a Framus dragon, believe I used 2x SM57's Fredman style and quad tracked it

The track I've uploaded lately is again the 6505 with the bias mod, still with Mesa power tubes, have replaced the preamp section with a Tung Sol in v1 and the rest 9th gen chinese Penta Labs tubes, and also running an MXR CSP-021 GT OD in front as a boost, again into the Framus dragon but a single SM57 on it and also quad tracked.

Have uploaded it again since getting a rather spanking pair of ADAM A5 monitors so probably sounds infinitely better than the previous mix you have listened to as that was done on a super horrid pair of sony hi-fi speakers.
