i agree about the armstrongs kilby and philly, i have them in my new york, and, well, the phrase "spoiling the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar" comes to mind... i mean, if you're willing to mod etc. of course you can switch them, but a lot of people don't want to have to mod a guitar, and that means that all those people would simply avoid the guitar (which can't be good shifting large numbers of them). Don't get me wrong, i'd much prefer the money to go into wood (as eggle did) than pickups, but unfortunately i suspect i'm in the minority, which can't be good for the bottom line...

that's very nice, i was looking at one a bit like that a while back on ebay but it went higher than i wanted to pay (in hindsight, it still went for a decent price :oops: but i wasn't aware of that at the time)
