But I really think the sound guy needs a good kick up the arse because Testament's sound was awfull. All I could hear was Bass guitar and Bass drums.

+1, except that I couldn't even hear them properly - just this constant low end rumble rather than each note thumping away.

I was so glad they played Skin O My Teeth, one of my favourites songs and they played it with such intensity.

+1, it's one of my favourites too & I've seen them play it several times, but I'm fairly sure it never sounded quite like that :)

Though Rob Halford does seem a little overly camp during some parts of the show. Still, the guitar tone was perfect and so fat yet crunchy.

+1, haven't they recently moved from Rocktron Prophesy to Engl preamps?  It was a really good sound either way.

Yeah that's right. I think they're using the Engl SE heads

I think Glen had been using Rocktron Pirhanha preampds for  a few years through Marshall power amps
But yes he has gone over to Engl

If I took nothing else from this show, I re-discovered my love of Megadeth - & that was worth the ticket price alone.
(...)
Still, gripes aside, Priest played very well & the crowd loved it.  Glenn & KK are brilliant metal guitarists & sounded fantastic.  I am very happy I went but I won't be rushing out to buy "Nostradamus".  More later, but now I'm going home :)  If only this damn ringing will stop....

Hum........now I am really looking forward for the show to begin in Paris in the next days....
I already have seen Megadeth with Broderick last year and this was an awesome experience for sure !   PDT_008

Back from the Priest Feast :

The sound of Judas Priest was huge, and I found the show really breathtaking covering their whole career. Congrat' to the nearly 40 years old band ! Glen and KK downings were awesome !

As for Megadeth, the set list was almost perfect and mercyless ! One intense hour of unstoppable classics hits ! But I didn't found the sound that good (nothing to do compared to Priest sound and power ...), it was quite difficult to hear Broderick's guitar...And Mustaine had a technical issue with his guitar while playing the first part of holy wars, so he had to change it during the song....didn't hear what he said to the technical staff....but he didn't seemed very happy... which made him play the second part of the song even better...

Won't even mention the sound of Testament....

Anyway it was a good show and it was so nice to see such a sold out concert and the energy of that massive crowd addicted...to chaos...

So yeah, i checked the ticket at 5, it said doors open at 5, show starts at 6.30 :/

So we missed Testament, but got there before Megadeth.

Was an epic show, lack of pits though i thought, especially since half the show was thrash metal.

Loved Megadeth (should have played Tornado though) and Prist were epic, even my mates who don't like Priest watched them and loved it.

But yeah, i'm damn hungover.

You coming to the Testament gig on the 25th?

It was great, very emotional gig, everyone had a laugh, and the testament boys were being really down to earth, I guess it was a sort of old fans who have been with them for 20+ years type thing, the tr00 fans etc.

Deffo never had a gig like that except for the last ever SikTh gig, which was a similar level of closeness.
